申请书(Application)写作范围很广，实用性很强。在西方，许多人求职就业、求学深造都必须先写申请书。写申请书被视为展示自已的观点、抱负、能力、热情、特长及知识的机会．所以申请书写得都很严肃认真，力求引起对方的重视，以便获得就业或人学的机会。
申请书一般包括年龄、性别、自己的工作能力、受过何种训练和教育，有哪些资历、成就、希望和抱负等内容。申请书的写作既要简明有趣、不落俗套，又要防止写得古怪异常、哗众取宠。千万不要把求职申请建立在别人同情自己的基础上，比如说，母亲生病需要花钱而急需找到一份工作等。申请应建立在自己能力的基础上，建立在你希望有所成就和作为的基础上。不要担心自己的阅历不丰富，没有获过奖励等。实际上，在学校参加过的各种活动都可以算作经历，例如，参加过业余演出和辩论会，荣获过某种奖励，当过学生干部等，这些都可以写出来，让对方加深对你的了解。

(1)写作注意事项及要求
①客观陈述事实经历，用语客观朴实，行文沉着老练，多使用 might be,would like to,wish,it seems to me that,although , should like to feel, provided ,if等表示委婉客气、有商量余地的“缓冲”词汇。与训练和受教育有关的事实经过可以客观地陈述出来，避免表达主观见解，让人看后自己去下结论。
②不要过分渲染自我。你当然认为自己有能力，够资格才申请某一职位，但申请书中切忌过分夸大自己的能力或表现出过分的自信，尤其不要说出与事实不符的能力或特长来。
③英文申请书最好使用品质优良的白色信纸和信封。申请者常常需要亲笔誊写，字体要写得清晰可辨，龙飞凤舞的字迹无疑是自寻绝路。当然，最好用电脑打出，不仅显得庄重有礼而且也比较具有现代气息。
