Thank you very much! I'm so humble and honor to be here tonight. I never thought

that I would have a chance in my life to be at the United Nations. Thank you Jotte

and thank you very much for Asia society.

I would like to thank you Ellie for the teachers comment when I sat in there and

listened to what you talked. I learnt English by mylf when I was twelve years old

for whatever reason. I don't know. I just fell in love with this language. Every

morning, from five o'clock, I rode a bicycle for fourteen minutes to the HangZhou

hotel looking for foreign tourists to teach me English. I could show them around

the city and they told me English.

Since then, everything I learn, I' ve got a habit: u your own brain to think about

just one more minute. When everything probably is yes, wait for one minute. when

that is probable no, wait for one minute. Think life that way becau if you look at

the world in a different way, you may do in a different way.

And tonight I'm so honored to be inspired by the game changer partners. I listened

to their stories, and I know there's so much things I should do and I should do

better. So many things we can do together. I think that I'm here today not reprent

mylf but reprent all the small guys, all the small business.

In 1995, when I left my university, I told my president of university that I am going

be an entrepreneur doing Internet. He said: 'What is Internet'? I said: 'I don't know'.

And when he listened to me for two hours, he told me: 'ok, jack, I know you want to

do something. I don't know what you want to do, but ten years later if you want to

be back, just be back. And I say: 'Ok within ten years, I will be back'. I know as a

teacher you always expect. Teacher always believe in the future. You believe

knowledge will change people's life. You believe and hope your students are better

than you are. Students are the best products. Today, I'm not a teacher, but I consider

CEO as a 'Chief Educator Officer'. My college don't like me becau I talk a lot. And I

say: I do the talk, you do the work.

When I started the business, it's so difficult to be a small business owner in China. It

took me five month to borrow five hundred dollars but I still failed. No chance and I

have no idea about how to run a business. When I went to register a company

called 'Internet'. The register officer said: 'No, there's not such a word 'Internet' in a

dictionary. How could you register a 'Interest'? You have to register another name.

He said computer consulting firm. I have no idea what computer is, so my first

company was 'HangZhou Hope Computer Consulting Firm'. It was tough, without

knowing anything about technology and without knowing anything about

computer.

In the past fifteen years, in working, I called mylf a blind man riding on the back

of a blind tiger. Tho experts riding on hors all failed. We survived becau we

worry about the future. We believe in the future. We change ourlves. We never

complain about others. I believe one thing and I told my team, my partner that we

have to prove ourlves becau if we can be successful, eighty percent of young

people can be successful. We haven't got a rich father; We haven't got a powerful

uncle; We haven't got one dollar from the government; We haven't got one dollar

from the banks. We start from zero. We have to work hard, not to prove ourlves

but to prove our generation and to prove Internet power. This is what I want to

share with young people.

And the other thing I believe is small is beautiful. If nobody help the small guys, we

can u Internet to help the small guys. Multinational companies are taken care by

Wall Street. Only small business have nobody to take care. If we can create value

for them, then we can success. Our philosophy is also this: if you can help others be

successful and you will be successful. I don't want to talk more but I believe in the

future, believe in young people, and believe in innovation.

Today, I want to say one thing like the cretary just saidthe world is filled with

troubles. Today is a world of complain. I complain when I was twenty years old.

Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, they are big companies. We are hopeless becau they are

too big. We complained, but now I never complain becau I have a big one too.

What I want to tell the young people is when most people complain, there's the

opportunity is. Some people started to complain, some people started to change

themlves and some changed others. Where the opportunity is where the

complain start. Where's the trouble, where's the opportunity. I always believe that.

and this is how I go through.

The last very important thing is I want to give you a T-shirt, another T-shirt. This

T-shirt is the special edition for Alibaba IPO. They are all made by small guys. This is

the small guy. Small is beautiful and small is powerful. But in this T-shirt, very few

people know that we have a cret code about Alibaba success just like Open

Sesame. The cret code for everybody is keeping your dream alive becau it

might come true someday. This is where the cret code is , thank you very much!
