英语中的基数词和序数词

一、基数词

表示数目的词称为基数词，要掌握英语中的基数词，必须做

到以下几点：

1） 掌握100以内基数词的英语表达法。

1 one 11 eleven 21 twenty-one

3 three 13 thirteen 30 thirty

4 four14 fourteen 40 forty

5 five15 fifteen50 fifty

6 six 16 sixteen60 sixty

2）100以内的基数词中，数字13—19的词尾都是teen，

20—90（仅指整十位数）的词尾都是ty。

3）注意区别英语中的“十几”和“几十”的重音区别。以

teen收尾的数词有两个重音，以ty收尾的数词只第一音节有重音，

例如：thirteen读成[``ti:n],twenty读成[`twenti],sixteen读成

[`siks`ti:n],sixty读成 [`siksti]。

4）至于英语中的多位数，将在后面的“多位数数字与电话号

码”中提到。

二、序数词

表示数目顺序的词称为序数词。在听力测验中，有时会出现关于

序数词的题目，考生应特别注意。

1）在1至20的数字中，one,two,three的序数词分别为first,

cond, third。其它序数词都是在基数词后加上th构成，但必须注

意一些特殊的序数词的拼法和读音，如：five—fifth,eight—

eighth,nine—ninth,twelve—twelfth,twenty—twentieth.

2）twenty以上整十位数序数词是将ty中的y变为i再加

thirtieth[[``tii ]（由双音节变为三音节）

3）注意第二十一等序数词的表示法。例如：

第二十一：twenty-first

第三十三：thirty-third

第四十五：fourty-fifth
