《Not Afraid》创作背景

《Not Afraid》主要由加拿大的嘻哈音乐人Boi-1da制作，Mike

Strange负责歌曲的录制工作。埃米纳姆想用歌曲来告诉大家他是如何度过2005年到2007年的低谷时期的，包括走出失去挚友普鲁夫的阴影以及克服用药和康复过程中的困难 。

正式录制歌曲之前，Boi-1da寄给了Mike Strange几个埃米纳姆制作的伴奏。之后，Mike Strange用PRO tools将伴奏改编，他将其他的乐器加入了副歌和过渡段。埃米纳姆对Mike Strange的改编很满意，于是进入录音室对歌曲进行了调整。之后路易斯·雷斯托制作的伴奏也加入了歌中 。

MV开头，埃米纳姆站在纽约曼哈顿市政大楼的楼顶鸟瞰城市，之后又转入一个地下室，于是镜头就在这两个地点之间转换。第一段之后，埃米纳姆走在街上，穿越了来往不停的车辆，发现越走出现了越多的镜子，他迷失了方向，最后他冲破了镜子“逃脱”了出去，同时地下室的一堵墙也被埃米纳姆打破。在街的前方，埃米纳姆发现路已经变成一个巨大的坑，如同末日，埃米纳姆跳了下去，突然他飞起来了，最后以超人的速度飞到了曼哈顿市政大楼的楼顶 。
