根据New York Post报道，“点赞”、“爱心”、“OK”和“对钩”等表情符号被国外的Z世代评选为十大“中老年表情包”。

而排名第一的“点赞（thumbs up）”还被Z世代视为咄咄逼人的代表。部分Z世代称，“点赞”表情带有挑衅色彩，在任何聊天中使用这个表情，他们都会感到被冒犯。

有网友在网上发表动态称：“No one my age in the office does it, but the Gen X people always do it. Took me a bit to adjust and get [it] out of my head that it means they're mad at me（和我同龄的同事没有人用‘点赞’表情，但X世代经常用。我需要花时间让自己适应，不去想他们发这个表情是在‘阴阳怪气’。）.”

Some were less offended by the thumbs-up emoji but felt the heart symbol was actually the most inappropriate.
