在辅音字母里面，字母Ｈ一般发摩擦音[h],或者不发音（voiceless）。字母Ｈ可以与其它辅音字母组合一起发音，Ｈ双字母组合有五个：ch、gh、 ph、 sh 、th，它们的读音分别归纳如下：
