  Hello, everyone. Today I’m very plead to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. My topic is life in the oceans taken fromLesson 63 of Unit 16 in SEFC(2). It is made up of four parts.

  【My understanding of this lesson

  The analysis of the teaching material:

  This lesson is a reading passage. It plays a very important part in the English teaching of this unit. Lesson 62 and Lesson 63 are a whole unit. By studying Lesson 63, Ss can improve their reading ability, learn more about the a and the life in the oceans. At the same time, we should get the students to understand some difficult ntences to comprehend the passage better. The Ss should do some listening, speaking and writing, too. Of cour, the Ss should receive some moral education. Let the Ss understand the a better, love the a and save the a and the life of the a.

  Teaching aims:

  1. Knowledge aim: Understand the main idea of the text.

  2. Ability aim: Retell the text in their own words.

  【Teaching steps / procedures】

  I have designed the following steps to train their ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing, especially reading ability.

  The entire steps are:

  Greetings, Revision, Lead-in and preparation for reading, Fast reading(scanning), Listening, Intensive reading, Preparation for details of the text, Consolidation, Discussion, Homework

  Step 1 Greetings

  Greet the whole class as usual.

  Step 2. Revision

  1. Ask students some questions to revi the last lesson(show them on the screen).

  a. How much salt do the oceans contain per thousand parts of water?(35 parts of salt. 3.5% by weight)

  b. What is coral? Why are corals not found in deep water?

  c. Why is the Dead Sea called the Dead Sea?

  2. Check the homework(made a survey about the a or a life by surfing the Internet or asking for help from other people). Through this part we can consolidate what they studied yesterday, communicate with others about their survery results and prepare for the new lesson.

  Step 3. Lead-in and preparation for reading

  Show them some pictures and let them talk each other, and then u the pictures about a and life in the oceans to learn new words, for example, Antarctica, huge whale, sperm whale, squid and so on.

  Purpo: Arou the students’ interest of study.

  Bring in new subject: Life in the oceans.

  Step 4. Fast reading

  Read the passage as quickly as they can. I show the questions on the screen and let them get the main idea of each paragraph:

  1. Why can living things live in such oceans around the Antarctica?

  2. What does the whale feed on?

  3. What is the difference between the sperm whale and other whales?

  Method: Read the text individually, u question—and—answer activity.

  Purpo: Improve the students’ reading ability.

  Understand the general idea of each paragraph.

  Step 5. Listening(book clod)

  1. Listen to the tape then do an exerci(wb page 90, part 1)

  2. True or fal exerci.(on the screen)

  Train the Ss’ listening ability and prepare for later exercis.

  Step 6. Intensive reading

  Read the passage carefully again and answer some detailed questions on the screen.

  1. How much does a whale eat at a time?

  2. Do all the whales feed on small fish?

  3. How deep can a sperm whale dive?

  It is also called depth reading or study reading. It means reading for detailed information.

  Purpo: Further understand the text (Train further reading ability) to find out some different ntences and details of the text.

  Step 7. Preparation for details of the text on the screen

  Step 8. Consolidation

  1. Find out the topic ntences.

  2. Retell the passage according to the topic ntences.

  Purpo: I want to know if my students understand the whole text really and if they master what I mean to tell them in this class. What’s more, I want to let them have the ability of introducing and analyzing expression. At the same time, I will write down the topic ntences on the blackboard according to what the students find, so they can retell it easily.

  Step 9. Discussion

  Show them some pictures about the polluted a and many living things which are in danger and ask them: What are their opinions about it? In order to let them have free choice, I give them another topic: The a is being polluted. What should they do?

  Purpo: I mean to give them emotional education. I give them multi-media pictures to arou their interest of study and their love for life. I mean to make them realize: The a is in danger!

  I teach them to do their best to help it and do something from now on. Everyone should do something to love and protect our home.

  Step 10. Homework

  Write an article Saving the a. I want to improve the ability of their writing. At the same time, train the ability of do-it-yourlf and looking up the information by themleves.

  Part 4. Blackboard design

  Unit 16 Lesson 63

  Topic Sentences:

  一、教学背景

  教材:《新目标》七年级英语教材

  内容:Unit 3 This is my sister.中Section A 的第一部分内容

  本课学习的内容是学习家庭成员(father, mother, parent, grandfather, grandmother, grandparent 等)并学会向他人介绍自己的家庭成员(This is my father. This is my father. The are my parents. That is my grandfather. That is my grandmother. Tho are my grandparents.),情境刺激-英语教学案例分析。由于学生小学学习过家庭成员的英文单词,所以笔者把重点用于教学生如何介绍自己的家庭成员,这一部分也正是学生感兴趣的话题。

  二、教学思路

  1、暖场

  在上课铃声响起之前,我准备了一个《The family song》的flash 给学生看,并要他们跟着学唱。通过音乐和图像的输入,吸引了学生的目光,激增了学生的热情,激发了学生的兴趣。

  2、导入

  在每节课上课前,我都会安排一个学生做三到五分钟的Daily Report。那么在上这节课前一天,我要做报告的同学带一张全家福照片,并在内容的最后加一段介绍她的全家福。这样老师可以顺其自然的借此导入今天的课题----This is my sister.

  3、流程

  教师通过展示一幅自己的全家福照片来逐个学习家庭成员的英文单词,并学习句型。这样的画面让学生也能想起自己的家人,把英文单词和生活中的实物联想到一块。单词的巩固用小游戏来实现,如High voice and low voice 和 Who is the fastest? 句型的练习用小组朗读竞赛的方式加强。

  待学生熟练掌握之后,给学生展示一幅动画片中《樱桃小丸子》的全家福照片。由于这个年龄阶段的学生对动画片感兴趣,而且樱桃小丸子又是他们非常熟悉的动画片,所以这样的情境让学生的兴趣又再一次被激起,用句型介绍人物就更得心应手。

  接着我让学生进行Pair work 的活动,用自带的全家福照片向同学介绍自己的家庭成员,这个活动增加了学生对单词和句子的熟练程度。

  最后,创设一个情境,在情境中学生扮演不同的角色Role play,有扮演爸爸的,有扮演妈妈的,有扮演爷爷的,等等,表演一个场景,上演一段小品,演绎一场舞台剧,教案《情境刺激-英语教学案例分析》。此情境的设计结合中学生现有的生活经验,为学生提供相互交流的机会以及充分表现自我发展的空间,意在全体学生在角色扮演的过程中,充分展示自己感兴趣的话题,并自主解决问题,同时积极用英语交流。通过情境的加入,学生能用所学单词和句型介绍家人,而且对以前所学的问候语,确认物品及颜色等句型运用到生活中来。在这几个环节中,学生充分展示自己的英语水平,使学生获得成就感,形成交流能力,增强自信度。在这过程中老师给予学生积极的评价,让他们感受到成功的喜悦。

  三、 教学反思

  英语是一门工具----交流的工具。英语教学的目的主要是培养学生运用英语的能力。作为一名英语老师应该在课堂上不断创设生活中喜闻乐见的情境,把所学所想运用于生活。这对于保持学生对英语的持久兴趣,激励学生不断处于较佳的学习状态之中,使他们对英语乐学、好学、会学起着至关重要的作用。

  在本课中我采用播放音乐和flash,介绍自己的全家福,樱桃小丸子的全家福,以及Pair work和 Role play 等情境来学习单词和句型,效果显著。

  在设置情境方面可以做一下尝试。

  1、设计多种多样的活动,增加情境。

  单一的活动是乏味的。即使是一个好的活动,经常用也就失去了它的魅力。为了激发学生的兴趣,保持学生的热情,教师要用不同的活动,使情境刺激不断延续。比如说教英文单词,可充分利用直观教具或图片或模型,这样可以加深学生对单词的印象。活动要常搞常新,精益求精。活动要有吸引力,引学生参与。

  2、联系实际,让情境更贴近生活。

  创设的情境应源于生活,高于生活。把课堂所学应用于生活,把生活中实例搬进讲堂。学生感到英语的实用性,自然学起来干劲十足,可以组织学生参加英语角、英语演讲比赛、英语歌唱比赛,收集英文广告,观看英文原声电影等。

  3、创造一个轻松愉快的学习氛围,让情境顺利展开。

  课堂氛围的热烈与否,能直接影响情境的完全发挥。平时教师在课堂上要表情丰富,精神饱满,热情高涨地教学,在课后也要与学生建立和谐融洽的师生关系,和学生打成一片,及时了解学生的动态,关注学生关注的新鲜事物。让学生喜欢这个老师,喜欢上他的课,这样老师开展起活动来就轻而易举,学生学起来来情趣盎然。

  Prent this dialogue with one student as an example, then ask the students to practi this dialogue in pairs, and get some of them to act out the dialogue.

  IV. Practice

  Put up a picture of a paper factory on the blackboard, get the students to talk about the factory, for example; " This is a paper factory, it makes paper, but it also makes smoke and waste water. I found the smoke was put into the air and the waste water was put into the river near it. The river has become very dirty. Lots of fish have died." Have the students talk in groups of four and then ask some of them to read out their report to share with the whole class.

  V. Read and say

  Part 1. Speech Castte. Play the tape twice for the students to listen and repeat. Ask the students to read the dialogue in groups of three. Then read for the class. Get the students to read the dialogue individually again and find the answer to the following questions:

  一、教学背景

  二、教学思路

  1、暖场

  在上课铃声响起之前,我准备了一个《The family song》的flash 给学生看,并要他们跟着学唱。通过音乐和图像的输入,吸引了学生的目光,激增了学生的热情,激发了学生的兴趣。

  2、导入

  结合二期课改精神和教材的总体目标和具体要求,我将本课教学目标设计如下:

  (一)练习法

  学生对于新授的单词和句型需要更多的时间来操练,把大多的课堂时间留给学生,在教授新词时我大多用了这个方法,如climb一词,我用ladder, tree, net, wall等物体的变化来操练这一单词,并使用What can you do? I can …的问答链让每一位学生都得到了练习。使学生在多信息,高密度,快节奏的灵活操练中拓宽了学习思考方向建造了知能转化的桥梁。

  (二)小组活动学习法

  整个教学程序我设计为热身——新知——趣味操练——巩固练习。

  Step1 课前热身

  1) 采用问答的方式What do you like to do? I like to …的句型,帮助学生回忆和巩固已经学过的有关动词run, sing,play等等。

  2) 演唱歌曲,英语歌曲是提高学生英语学习兴趣和学习效率的有效方法之一,活泼的歌曲既能感染学生,调动学生的情绪,歌词中的动词如:swim,jump,walk又能为新课学习作铺垫。

  绳子是学生上体育课跳绳时经常用的,我从绳子入手,先顺理成章得教授skip一词,学生起先看到并不觉得特别新鲜;接着我转身将它悬挂在黑板上,轻轻拿一块纸板放在上面,学生立马发现绳子已经变成了一个秋千,大家兴趣一下子上来了,我趁热打铁告诉学生It’s a swing. 和 swing on the swing.将swing的动词意义灌输了下去,并把它的名词意义也拓展给了学生。接着在魔术音乐的配合下,我又添了三个横竿在swing上,大家笑着发现swing已经变成了ladder,同时引出动词climb. 最后,同样在音乐的配合下,我又使绳子成为了一个可以飞翔的风筝,引出了fly,取得了较好的效果。

  我根据skip, swing, climb, fly几个单词的共同特点,利用一根magic rope将这些新授单词串联了起来。既自然过渡了新授内容,又使学生学习起来具有趣味性。此外,我在教授skip时以声调的变化,教swing时以动作的变化,教climb时以物体的变化,教fly时以动画的形式并配以问答链来丰富学生对新词的操练,避免单调和乏味。

  Step 3.趣味活动

  1)做做操:教授完单词后,我根据动词与rope的联系,编了一首儿歌,分别有词组:skip a rope, swing on the swing, climb the ladder和fly a kite. 读完之后,让学生配上动作来说说做做,让学生体验运动的乐趣,又与本课主题相呼应。此外,还为最后的阅读短文做了铺垫。

  2)问答游戏:Goofy是一个热爱运动的卡通人物,在观看Goofy的动画时,我设计让一半的学生观看动画,另一半学生背对动画,在放映结束后未看动画的学生问看的学生What can Goofy do?得到He can …的回答后,再由得到回答的学生来回答我的问题。让每个学生都带有任务,集中他们的注意力。

  五、说多媒体运用:

  我认为在本节课上,多媒体与学科教学整合的亮点主要有以下几点:

  1. 在单词新授部分,我的教学设计完全就是围绕一根绳子来完成,我告诉学生这是一根神奇的绳子,能够变换形状。然后通过对绳子的摆动做出秋千,绳梯,风筝来引出各个单词。但是简单的摆动看起来比较直白,为了烘托出“神奇”两字的效果,我就配了一段背景音乐,在powerpoint中先截取了“风铃”的声音,然后在卡通cd中截取了一句“It’s magic.”的英语,将这两段声音合在一起,达到了需要的效果。

  2. 在新授完词汇进行巩固时,我编了一段儿歌,skip,skip,skip a rope.在编儿歌的时候我只是把全面的单词和词组组合在一起,并没有想到节奏,但是在粘贴完我自己朗读一遍时,发现这些单词和词组读起来特别有节奏感,于是我尝试找了一段《兔子舞》的音乐,配上儿歌,这样读起来既有节奏感,又有趣味性,增加了学生学习的兴趣。而且我想这样的节奏不仅用于公开课,其实在平时的家常课上操作起来也是非常实用的。可以使自己平时的课堂增加一些色彩。

  3. 电影的导入,为了教授第三人称的问答句型,教师需要引出一个“第三人称”。这个时候就非常需要一个活泼的学生喜欢的人物出现。我选用了卡通人物高飞,并剪取了一段高飞在运动场上的录象,其中包括高飞一系列动作的组合,使学生在欣赏影片的同时巩固单词,并为接下来的句型操练做好了铺垫。

  以上是我认为多媒体在我的课堂上起到主要作用到的几点,其它一些小的细节也体现了多媒体运用的优点,如多媒体歌曲的演唱,使学生不仅有了听觉的感受,更有了视觉的享受;出示单词时加上图片或动画的注解,让学生更加准确的领会单词的意义;在教室里不具备运动条件的情况下,利用体育课时给学生拍的照片,马上可以在课堂上起到了作用。
