（2022山东泰安模拟预测）My family’s hou was clo to a road. And on the far end of the road stood a big tree. My parents, together with me, often crosd the road to the big tree to have fun with our neighbors. But I wasn’t allowed to cross the road to go there by mylf for my safety.
One day, for some reason, the big tree would be cut down. It was just before dinner time. A large crowd of neighbors gathered at the far end of the road to watch the falling of this tree. I watched from my hou as the tree, tied with ropes, was lowered down. Soon, the huge tree fell safely to the ground with a big sound. But the kids and grown - ups didn’t leave. They moved clor to stay around this wonderful old tree.
Like them, I wanted to touch the tree with my hands and say good - bye. But I was only five years old and wasn’t allowed to cross the busy road alone. But as I became sadder w
hen watching the tree nearly disappear, I thought to mylf, “What’s the worst thing that could happen?” I didn’t e any cars coming, so I ran across the road to say good - bye to the fallen tree.
After standing around and talking with some of the neighbors, I realized that I had stayed there too long. “I am late for dinner, and I’m in trouble.”I told mylf. Without even thinking, and without eing if there were any cars coming, I dashed out between two parked cars and raced toward the other side of the road.
I didn’t e a car rushing forward from the other end of the road. And the driver didn’t expect I’d cross the road at that moment. When spotting me, he tried to stop his car, who tires produced loud and unpleasant nois. But it was too late.

（2022辽宁大连一模）I was born into a big family. As the fifth of ven children, I went to the same public school as my three older sisters and brother. Every year, my mother went to the same scene and had parent/child interviews with the same teachers. The only thing different was the child. And every child participated in an old school tradition — the annual plant sale held in early May, just in time for Mother’s Day.
Third grade was the first time that I was allowed to take part in the plant sale. I wanted to surpri my mother, but I didn’t have any money. I went to my oldest sister and shared the cret, and she gave me some money. When I arrived at the plant sale, I carefully made my lection and spent a long time inspecting each plant to ensure that I had indeed found the best geranium (天竺葵). Once I had taken it cretly home, with the help of my sister, I hid it in the attic (阁楼). I was very nervous for fear that my mother would find it before Mother’s Day, but my sister assured me that she wouldn’t, and indeed she did not.
When Mother’s Day arrived, I got up very early, went into the attic on tiptoe and carried the carefully-lected geranium to the kitchen, where my mother was preparing breakfast. “It’s for you!” I gave the flower to mum and hugged her tightly.
The year I was fifteen, my younger sister reached third grade. In early May she came to me full of wonder and crecy and told me that there was going to be a plant sale at school, and she wanted to surpri our mother. As my older sister did for me, I gave her some money and off she went.
