Then, the lifter 4 moves up to stations A-D. When it is condirmed by a detector 40 that there are no workpieces at the last station D, cylinders 24-27 attached to a slide ba 16 are operated to protrude fingers 28- 31 to the fronts of work-pieces W1-W4. Then, a feed cylinder 14 is operated to move the slide ba toward a main conveyor 2 by the length of single station. Thereby, the workpieces W1-W4 can be transferred without being overlapped with one another.
