Long before he became a famous painter, Vincent van Gogh worked as a school teacher and then as a preacher (牧师). Despite this, van Gogh never gave up. He taught himlf the techniques of painting and went on to produce some of the most famous paintings in history. In 1888 he moved to the south of France hoping that the warm climate would help him paint better. It did, but he was still very poor and his paintings did not ll.
