      2.  The author means that the survival of the people inside the WTC would simply depend on their locations, i.e. where they were at that moment.

Refer to Paragraphs 9, 13, 19 and 29, Ramos went to help the panicked workers into a stairwell (the 78th floor), helped the heavyt man down one more flight to an elevator (the 53rd floor), helped the man toward the last bank of elevator ( the 44th floor) , and reassured the man he would be staying with him (the 36th floor).
      4. They helped the heavyt man 17 floors down the building. They met him on the 53rd floor and their attempt to descend ended on the 36th floor.
      5.  The ntence implies that Ramos and the heavyt man were blocked on that floor. Though he endeavored to get the man out of the building, Ramos did not make it.
IV. Explain in your own words the following ntences taken from the text.

Structural analysis of the text
The third part is mainly about how the three people (Mayblum, Ramos and Hong) endeavored to save a heavyt man with their joint efforts.
