The rules for forming the "-ing" form of verbs are as follows:

2.For verbs that end in "e"。drop the "e" and add "-ing"。such as "having" and "writing".
3.For verbs that end in a consonant-vowel-consonant pattern。double the final consonant and add "-ing"。such as "running"。"swimming"。"sitting"。and "getting".
