摘要：PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which performs quickly and surely venting, cutting and closing of an evacuation tube for a glass tube held upright by constituting the titled device wherein the evacuation tube is held airtightly by an elastic annular body and while the glass tube is heated, the air is vented from the inside and the evacuation tube is melt-cut and clod. CONSTITUTION:A glass tube 1 is held upright by inrting its evacuation tube 1 into the inrtion hole 5 for the evacuation tube in a glass tube supporting part 4 and the tube 2 is inrted into a mounting part 6 for the evacuation tube. A lever 11 is then depresd to lower a sleeve 10 together with a rigid annular body 9 by means of a pin 14 and to press an airtight elastic body 8 enclod with a cylindrical ba body 7, the body 9, a sleeve 10, etc. thereby bringing strongly the same into tight contact with the outside peripheral surface of the tube 2 and forming an airtight part. The tube 1 is heated to the high temp. necessary for a venting operation in a heating furnace (not shown in the figure) and the inside of the tube 1 is vented through the tube 2 to a vacuum by a vacuum pump (not shown in the figure). While the venting is continued, an annular heating element 16 is actuated to generate heat thereby heating the ba part of the tube 2. The tube 2 is thus melt cut and is simultaneously clod near the stem part 3.
