Professor Ellis, a renowed linguist, received his Doctorate from the University of London and his Master of Education from the University of Bristol. A former Professor at Temple
University both in Japan and the US. Prof. Ellis has taught in numerous positions in England, Japan, the US, Zambia and New Zealand. Dr. Ellis who is known as the “Father of Second Language Acquisition”, has rved as the Director of the Institute of Language Teaching and Learning at the University of Auckland. Author of numerous student and teacher training textbooks for Prentice Hall and Oxford University Press, Prof. Ellis’s textbooks on Second Language Acquisition and Grammar are core textbooks in TESOL and Linguistics programs around the world.

Rod ELLIS 新西兰奥克兰大学教授 Prof.of University of Auckland, New Zealand Rod Ellis is currently Professor in the Department of Applied Language Studies and Linguistics, University of Auckland, where he teaches postgraduate cours on cond language acquisition, individual differences in language learning and task-bad teaching. His published work includes articles and books on cond language acquisition, language teaching and teacher education. His books include Understanding Second Language Acquisition (BAAL Prize 1986) and The Study of Second Language Acquisition (Duke of Edinburgh prize 1995). More recently, Task-Bad Learning and Teaching early (2003) and (with Gary Barkhuizen) Analyzing Learner Language in (2005) ), were published by Oxford University Press. He has also published veral English language textbooks, including Impact Grammar (Pearson: Longman). He is also currently editor of the journal Language Teaching Rearch. In addition to his current position in New Zealand, he has worked in schools in Spain and Zambia and in universities in the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States. He has also conducted numerous consultancies and minars throughout the world. |
