The Terracotta Warriors
The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974 in Xi’an, Shaanxi province by farmers digging a well. The site covers 20 square kilometers and includes 8,000 warriors, hors and chariots arranged in battle formation. It is said to reprent that armies of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, and protect him in the afterlife.
