1. Comic strips
a. 不作导入，开门见山问学生：Look at the pictures and read Eddie and Hobo’s conversation. What does Eddie want to be?
b. 看漫画听录音，在讨论细节的同时说明生词，鼓舞学生推测词义，不要翻看生词表。
Why does Eddie say Hobo is very lucky? Why does Hobo think Eddie is daydreaming? Does Eddie understand what Hobo says? ( No. Hobo tells Eddie to be realistic. Hobo thinks that Eddie can’t be a TV superstar. But Eddie thinks Hobo tells him not to be too modest. So he says he should be in Hollywood, becau being in Hollywood is much harder than being a TV superstar. )

语言点：
1、Why don’t you……..?是一个表示建议经常用的 句型，意为“你什么缘故不……..呢？”依照实际表达的 supporting需要，也 能够将you 改成其他人称代词。相当于怎样给皮肤补水Why not…….?回答时不用 becau。
Why don’t we go and tell him our ideas? 我们什么缘故不直截了当去告诉他我们的看法呢？
2、Stop 表示“停止”的意思，其后用动词不定式或Ving形式作宾语都能够。然而两者意思不同：Stop to do表示“停下来 去 做某事”；而Stop doing表示“停止做某事”。假如表示“停下来并用另一种方式做同一件情况”也 用stop to do 结构。
如：We stopped working at tea-time. 我们在午后茶点时刻停止了 工作。
Nobody understood him, so he stopped to explain in another way.
没有人明白他的意思，因此他停下来用另一种方式来说明了。
