stromWhen teacher double clicked the movie, I was not very interested in that one becau of the monochrome pictures. The movie must be an antediluvian, which was my first impression. When I saw the typical Chine farmers were played by foreign impersonators, I was so curious that how foreigners could interpret the images of ancient Chine peasants. With such kind of mood, I watched the movie from the beginning to the end.
The movie mainly tells about the tragic story of Chine rural couples. Wang Lung married Olan, who was just a rvant girl but a good wife and loving mother. They had lived a hard life and the only financial resource was the harvest from the small land. They relied on the weather and climate, and once there was a disaster that the locust swarm has destroyed all the crops and vegetables. In the following winter, the whole family suffered from starvation.

Actually, in that period of time and old society, starvation is a common thing. When the poor felt hungry, they ate the tree barks and grass roots. Believe it or not, they even ate the dead flesh from tho who was died of hunger. After the plague of locusts, it was followed by the drought disaster. Wang Lung got nothing to support his family, so they moved to the south, by pulling rickshaw and mendicancy to live on. In his heart, he still wanted to farm and back to the earth, but no money no hope. In a rampage of poor people, Olan reaped a sum of money accidently and they backed to the hometown. Wang Lung bought cows and the field and became rich. Afterward, they moved to a big hou and which was beyond their imagination before. He even learned from the landlord to marry a young concubine, who was a famous actress in a theater. Olan, of cour, was so sad but she never complained anything. What could she do was to w the clothes and nurture her children. She was always obedient and scrupulously abide by her duty. To be frank, sometimes I just dislike her obedience, she should stand and fight!
内双怎么画眼线I can’t remember the details, but the movie has happy ending, that is Wang Lung realized his mistakes and continued hard working and they still lived on the earth, depending on the weather to have a big harvest. The only pity is Olan was died; I was deeply moved by her heart of gold, women like Olan were mirable in that society, becau they had a such low position and a woman must follow her husband’s lot and position.
I don’t know the story is true or not and some people argue that such a story is alienated from the nature of society in that period of time in China. However, in my eye, this movie mostly still reflects the contemporary social situation. At the end of the 19th century at the beginning of the 20th century in China, there were so many natural and man-made disasters, such as starvation, locust plague, landlords' squeeze and bloody revolutionary. And the poor hungry people ll children to get food in return is absolutely true. Peasants born in the earth and died on the earth, and hope nothing but a big harvest to live through the long cold winter. As the old saying goes, Outsiders e more than insiders. We may not recognize that our country was so backward and poor, while it was true, at least in that time. The movie described the vivid and lively rural life in China, so I think it’s great. I

Even in today, many foreigners still have the same impression. In fact, in some remote mountainous areas, farmers still live on the earth and the harvest depends on the weather. That’s to say, they still keep the traditional farming and do not know that high-tech has been brought in agriculture.
Moreover, the film also depicts many other classical images, like Wang Lung’s lfish uncle and aunt, who leave a deep impression on us. Finally, let’s have a summary. Farmers have strong desire for the earth and great fear for the visitation of Providence. Under the circumstances of oppression and exploitation and troublous times, farmers live a mirable life. So there is a question “Will it be enough for the farmers only posss the land?” No, they need peace, stabilization, asonable weather for crop rising, etc. What they need is simply the Simple happiness.
