第二章冠词（帮助说明名词所指的对象）

一．不定冠词（元音发音用an, 辅音发音用a）

言简意赅

使用情况	例子
第一次提到的人或事物	There is a new handbag on the desk. I bought the handbag yesterday.
“一”的概念，相当于one.	A hundred people are invited to the party. There is going to be an English lecture this evening. It is a foot long, an inch thick.
泛指同类中的某一(人/ 物)	A Mr. Smith came to e you while you were away. I remember he came here on a Saturday and left soon.
一类，表示类别	A doctor is a person who saves people’s lives. A hor is a uful animal.
表频度，译为“每一” 相当于per/ every/ each 时间、速度、价格等词之前	We have ten English lessons a week. A spaceship flies about 11 kilometers a cond. The envelopes are two yuan a dozen.
序数词前，“又一，再一” most前, most=very	You must try a cond time. Suzhou is a most beautiful city in China.
“一杯、一份、一场”等数量概念，用于物质名词前	A heavy rain fell this morning in this small town. I would like a coffee and two beers.
一个具体的人或物，用于抽象名词前	Studying with you is a great pleasure. As a teacher, his father is a success, but as a poet, he is a failure.
表某一方面、某一部分等特殊含义,用于不可数名词前	She has a good knowledge of English and computer. He has had a good education.
动作意义的名词前	have a walk/ look/ break/ try/ bath/ swim have a cold/ cough/ fever/ headache/ pain have a good/ happy time take a rest/ walk/ break/ bath/ try give a smile/ laugh/ shout make an effort to do make a choice/ decision/ plan/ face / mistake/ promi/ speech/ living
固定搭配	as a rule 作为常规 as a result 结果 in a word 总之 at a loss 不知所措 all of a sudden 突然 in a hurry 匆忙地 in a way从某种意义上说 once in a while 时而 a moment ago 刚才 as a matter of fact 事实上 after a while 一会儿后 at a high speed 以很高的速度 in a moment 立刻 once upon a time 从前

二．定冠词

使用情况	例子
特指的人或事物	He likes the football that you bought for him yesterday. Hu Jintao attended the ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland on December 20, 2009.
说话双方都知道的或上文 (企业创新管理第二次)提到的人或物	Do you know the woman standing under the tree. I read a story yesterday. The story was very interesting.
独一无二的事物	Man is now studying and using the sun. the moon the sky the earth the univer ※ a full moon a red sun
单数名词前，表示一类人或物	The hor is a uful animal. I wonder who invented the computer.
adj./ adv.星期一到星期日的英文最高级或序数词前	Physics is the most difficult and English is the easiest, in my opinion. My deskmate is always the first to come and the last to leave.
overthere西洋乐器、方位、姓氏复数的名词前	play the piano/ violin/ guitar in the east/ west/ south/ north on the left/ right in the center The Smiths are eating dinner.
动词+ sb. +介词+ the +身体部位	The policeman caught the thief by the arm. hit sb. in the face pat sb. on the shoulder lead sb. by the hand catch sb. by the arm take sb. by the arm
人名或地名前，表示特定含义	The Smith you’re looking for no longer lives here. The Tibet of today is not what it was 20 years ago.
形容词或分词前，表示一类人或物，相当于一个名词	The young should respect the old. The injured were saved after the fire.
by+ the + 计量单位名词	I pay the rent by the month. Eggs are usually sold by the dozen. by the pound/ foot/ yard/ inch by the hour/ day/ week/ month/ year by the thousand
江河湖海、群山、群岛、沙漠、海湾	the Yangtze River the Yellow River the Pacific Ocean the West Lake the Rocky Mountains the Philippines the Sahara the Gulf of Mexico
普通名词或形容词构成的专有名词前	the People’s Republic of China the United Nations the Great Wall the New York Times

三．零冠词
