摘要：PURPOSE:To enhance the surface smoothness of a paper and enable color images with favorable quality to be formed even on an ordinary paper, by alternately providing heat-fusible colorless solid ink layer regions and heat-fusible colored ink layer regions on a ba film, and firstly transferring a colorless solid ink layer onto the surface of the paper. CONSTITUTION:A ba 1 is, for example, a film of a polyester or the like having a thickness of veral tens of micrometers, which is rolled. Such bas with various widths are prepared. A colorless precoat layer 2 comprising an oily material such as carnauba wax but not containing a pigment is provided on the ba by coating, and subquent to the precoat layer 2, for example, a yellow layer 2, a magenta layer 4 and a cyan layer 5 comprising respectively a yellow solid ink and the like are quentially provided by coating. The precoat layer 2 is first thermally transferred onto the entire surface of a recording paper, then the yellow layer 3 is brought into the paper, and predetermined pattern images are printed. Thereafter, printing by u of the magenta layer 4 and printing by u of the cyan layer 5 are performed. To obtain monochrome images instead of color images, precoat layer regions 2 and ink layer regions of one color are alternatively provided on the ba.
