Note: Special purpo vehicles (SPVs), broadly defined, are all vehicles who notification number begins with the digit “5”. Narrowly defined, they exclude all Van Transport, Cabriolet, and Stake Transport. This report focus primarily on this narrow definition.
Driven by sluggish demand for Van Transport, Cabriolet, and Stake Transport, the first quarter (Q1) of 2011 was a sobering one for the overall market in Special Purpo Vehicles (SPVs). Year over year (Yo
Y), the market saw a further slowdown in growth to a rate of 4% and fell by 19% compared to the previous quarter. Total licen registrations dropped to a mere 193,029 vehicles. Narrowly defined (excluding trucks mentioned above), the SPV gment fared more favorably.
The gment ro by 37% YoY and by 11% compared to the last quarter, putting an end to its continued decline since Q3 of 2010. (See figures 1 and 2)
During Q1 of 2011, there were 55,572 new licen registrations of narrowly defined SPVs, including 14 categories with more than 1,000 registrations. Amongst the, Concrete Mixing and Crane Truck topped the list with more than 10,000 new licens. At 7th place, the Concrete Pump enjoyed the greatest YoY rate of increa of 101%. Meanwhile, Mail Delivery, which had the strongest growth in the fourth quarter of 2010, is now the fastest declining gment at a rate of 29%. 2. Analysis of Primary SPV Categories) 2.1 Concrete Mixing界面设计原则
During the first quarter of 2011, 14,275 new licen plates were granted to Concrete Mixing . As the most common vehicle type within narrowly defined SPVs, this SPVs category grew at a rate of 66% YoY , and by 19% when compared to the previous quarter. Performance in this market is both surprising and encouraging in the backdrop of overall credit tightening and contractionary real-estate policy.
Polk-CATARC’s vehicle information regarding Concrete Mixing manufacturers is summarized in table 2. During the first quarter of 2011, CAMC and SANY remain the top two leaders in this group. ZOOMLION, at third place in the previous quarter, has slid into sixth place. Compared to the previous quarter, Tangshan Yate grew at the fastest pace in the group at a rate of 133%, following cloly by Baotou BeiBen at a rate of 131%.gretton
Table 3 regarding performance, concrete mixer vehicles in terms of chassis manufacturer, as before, CNHTC(Sino truck) led with 4,321 units, increasing by 60% YoY and by 39% compared to the last quarter. On a year over year basis, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor (DFLZ), Shaanxi Automobile Group(SHANNXI AUTO), and FAW had the greatest growth rates at 213%, 186% and 170% respectively. Compared to the previous quarter, Boutou BeiBen was the clear growth leader with a growth rate of 143%.
儿童英语早教Lastly, Table 4 summarizes Concrete Mixing registrations geographically by province. Shandong, Jiangsu and Hebei topped the list with the most new licen registrations. On a YoY basis, the top ten provinces covered had positive growth across the board, with Henan, Hubei and Liaoning topping the list with growth rates over 100%. Compared to the previous quarter, Anhui was the only province with negative growth rates. In contrast, all other provinces experienced positive growth when compared to Q4 of 2010, with Tianjin leading with a rate of 210%.

As the cond most prominent category within narrowly defined SPVs, Crane Truck saw 11,600 new licen registrations in Q1 2011. After negative growth throughout the cond half of 2010, the category has returned to positive growth with a rate of 49% over the last quarter and 31% YoY (e figure 4).

Table 5 provides a breakdown of the Crane Truck category by manufacturer. In Q1 2011, XCMG and ZOOMLION led decisively with 5,079 and 2,361 new vehicles respectively. Amongst the top five manufacturers, T·KING derves special mention as the only company that manufactures Crane Truck by modifying the chassis of light to medium trucks. This process results in Crane Truck that are considerably different from traditionally manufactured types. Nevertheless, we believe that there exists significant market demand for this product given T·KING’s recent performance.
