英语阅读见字如晤——抖森读信：未与你共度⼀切（1）
今天和⼤家分享⼀个英国的朗读类节⽬，被称为英国版的《见字如⾯》——Letters Live。
严格来说这不是⼀档电视节⽬，是⼀个英国⽹站Letters Live从2013年开始举办的读信活动，他们的⽹站⾸页有⼀句⼥作家Katherine Mansfield所写的话：
This is not a letter but my arms around you for a brief moment.
这并⾮只是⼀封信，⽽是我能⽤双臂拥住你的⽚刻。
经过深情的演绎，这⼀封封信已不再是简单的⽂字。古诗翻译
仿佛那故事也跨越了历史，来到了我们眼前。
五年⾥，诸多名⼈登上Letters Live的舞台，有我们熟悉的卷福Benedict Cumberbatch, “⽢道夫”Ian McKellen，抖森Tom Hiddleston等。
他们⽤动情的声⾳朗读着动⼈的信件，为你我创造出⼀个个温暖⼊怀的⽚刻。

这封信写于1978年，由⼀位名叫Gerald Durrell的英国动物学家写给⾃⼰的未婚妻Lee McGeorge，英剧《The Durrels 德雷尔⼀家》就是根据Gerald Durrell的⼩说改编的。
这个可爱的男⼈在信中向⾃⼰的妻⼦倾诉了⾃⼰的浓浓爱意，也袒露了⾃⼰的那些“⼩⽑病”。

My darling McGeorge,

You said that things emed clearer when they were written down.

Well, here with a very boring letter in which I will try and put everything down, so that you may read and re-read at horror at your folly in getting involved with me.
那么这恐怕是⼀封很⽆聊的信，在信⾥我会试着把所有的东西都写下来。你或许会反复阅读，最后会因为和我扯上关系⽽感到害怕、⽽感到愚蠢。
Deep breath.

To begin with, I love you with a depth and passion that I have felt for no one el in this life and if it astonishes you it astonishes me as well.

Not, I hastento say, becau you are not worth loving.

Far from it.

It's just that, first of all, I swore I would not get involved with another woman.

Secondly, I have never had such a feeling before and it is almost frightening.

Fifthly, I never hoped, aspired, dreamed that one could find everything one wanted in one person.

I was not such an idiot as to believe this was possible.

Yet in you I have found everything I want: you are beautiful, gay, giving, gentle, idioticallyand deliciously feminine, xy, wonderfully intelligent and wonderfully silly as well.

What I am trying to say is that you must not feel offended if you are sometimes treated simply as my wife.

I know that you have felt jealousy over Lincoln’s wife and child, but this is what I call normal jealousy, and this – to my regret – is not what I've got.
