The Great Gatsby
1. Analysis of the teaching materials
The literature we taught is an American novel The Great Gatsby which is written by Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald. The story primarily concerns the young and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and his quixotic passion and obssion for the beautiful former debutante Daisy Buchanan. Through the tragedy of Gatsby, the novel mainly explores themes of the disillusion of American Dream. From learning this novel, students will know about the background information of that time and be more interested in learning American literature.

Since the students are studying in college, they have read and learned some literary works, so they know how to study literature on their own. But their English levels are various from each other, thus, the teaching design should be stratified from easy points to difficult points to help students get knowled
