PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full duplex asynchronous data transfer

SOLUTION: (a) Data is transmitted from a main module PM to a slave module SM, and is simultaneously and independently transmitted from the slave module SM to the main module PM. Encoded words A and B in which (b) data and a color (request signal:ODD or EVEN) are superimpod are respectively transmitted to a request mode from the main module PM and the slave module SM. When both colors are coincident with each other, the data is transmitted. An encoded word C is prepared from the encoded words A and B on the transmission line to be transmitted to a respon mode for the main module PM and the slave module SM. It is made possible for both modules to detect that both colors are coincident with each other from the encoded word C. When the colors are coincident with each other, the data transmitted from the encoded word C is respectively decoded. Thus, a full duplex asynchronous data transfer can be performed in a single cycle.
