It is one of the oldest cities in the Yangtze River Delta.Suzhou is located in the south of Jiangsu Province in east China, and is bordered by the Yangtze River to the north, Lake Tai to the west and the East China Sea to the east. As a famous historical and cultural city, Suzhou has been accorded the title of ‘Paradi on Earth’, where traditional gardens, old canals and exquisite crafts such as Kunqu Opera have been carefully prerved.
Suzhou is well-known as one of China’s most livable cities. It enjoys a warm, wet and humid climate, and is rich in water resources becau of its many rivers and lakes. The city features a wide array of exquisite cuisine, featuring local specialties such as Dongpo Pork, Beggar’s Chicken, and sweet lotus root soup.
