pole摘要:Floor coverings are produced by applying to the pile fibres of a pile fabric at least 5% by weight on the weight of the pile fabric of a resin obtained by polymerising one or more polymerisable unsaturated compounds and bonding together the adjacent pile fibres bearing the resin. The pile fabric may be of tufted or woven construction having cut or uncut pile fibres and the pile fibres may be of wool, visco rayon, cellulo acetate, polyamide or acrylic fibres and the backing of hessian. The resin may be an acrylic resin containing a major proportion of units derived from an acrylic ester with minor proportions of units derived from substituted acrylic acids and/or substituted alkylolacrylamide, a terpolymer of butadiene, styrene or vinyl pyridine, polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl chloride. The resin may be applied undiluted or as a solution, suspension or emulsion in a liquid medium such as water by spraying, padding, dipping or foaming from a lick roller or as a powder which is then melted to bond the fibres. Bonding may be effected with or without the application of heat. When the resin is applied in liquid form the liquid may also contain fillers, e.g. white clay or thermoplastic powders, dyes, pigments, softening agents, soil retardants, fire retardants or germicides. The pile fabric may be treated with an inert particulate material, e.g. sand or glass beads, before,
simultaneously with or after the application of the resin. A resilient layer of foam rubber or polyurethane foam may be applied to either face of the backing fabric. The impregnated pile fabrics may be subjected to mechanical treatments, e.g. callendering, before or simultaneously with the bonding by the resin. The floor covering may be fitted as tiles by adhesively attaching areas of the resinbonded pile fabrics to a solid ba of for example wood or concrete or areas of the fabric may be adhesively attached to similar, usually square, areas of thin rigid hardboard or plywood, to make laminated tiles which are applied in the normal manner.ALSO:Floor coverings are produced by applying to the pile fibres of a pile fabric at least 5% by weight on the weight of the pile fabric of a resin obtained by polymerising one or more polymerisable unsaturated compounds and bonding together the adjacent pile fibres bearing the resin.
