I'd like people to view me as a determined and strong leader. I need the qualities to be affirmed by people that they can look up to me for leadership.

As I am purpofully trying to avoid the danger of generalization, I can only tell you that there are definitely some people who are very easily influenced by materials things, while it is also certain that there are people who are not so easily influenced by material things; they often tend to have strong personal values.
Do people's characters change as they get older?
People's characters depend on many things, including their experiences, relationships, health and financial situations. As the things change over time, so we also e people's character's change.

Speaking of an interesting person I know from another country, the first one comes into my mind is Mr. Davis. He is the person I met 1 year ago. The time I knew him was when he moved to our locality from a different city. He has a family with 3 members and he is an engineer graduate and has worked as a chief engineer in many reputed organizations as he told me. In his early 40‘s he took lf-retirement and now enjoys his time either in developing some mysterious engineering and scientific tools or by travelling to different places of the world.
