pillows摘要：Acute mitral regurgitation due to ruptured chordae tendineae is a dramatic and life-threatening clinical situation. Rarely does this complication occur during pregnancy. We prent a ca of a 30-year-old woman in week 31 of her pregnancy who developed acute mitral regurgitation, condary to bacterial endocarditis and ruptured chordae tendineae. This acute event resulted in preterm labor a few hours later. Delivery was uneventful and successful and was followed by open heart surgery 5 day
s later. A review of the literature on chordae tendineae rupture and resulting mitral regurgitation during pregnancy is prented.
