Kicking stone balls
During the Qing Dynasty, kicking a stone ballaround was a popular game in the northern part of China, and it was oftenplayed in winter to keep warm.
Playing hide and-ek

May 20th this year is the first World BeeDay. It was created last year by the UN, after Slovenia put forward the idea,to draw people's attention to the important role of bees and other pollinatorsin keeping the planet healthy.
A day for all tho who are interested inlearning to improve the quality (质量) of their bees! A day also for tho who want to know more aboutbee keeping!
Bring your family with you and have fun!Let's celebrate everything connected with bees and the coming of spring!
Activities for thewhole family:
talks on bees/bee products for sale/wax (蜡)&candle-making lessons.
Bee Communication:
bandmasterDr. Gavin Ramsay will explain the dances of bees, telling you aboutwhat smart behaviors bees have.
Cleaning beeswax &candle-making:Class will be given by KateBlack.
Cafe:Lunch and tea/coffee/cakes are available at the cafe.
The activities are held by BIPC, the Bee Improvement Program forCornwall.
Tickets are 8 for members of BIPC and 10 for non-members. Half pricefor a child.
All the money will go to the City Bee Protection Project.

Thousands of years ago, Britain was coveredby thick forests, home to many animals which no longer live in the UnitedKingdom. There were wolves and bears, many different kinds of deer and largewild cows. There were less than four million people. They lived in smallvillages protected by wooden walls from the animals outside.
All this has changed, of cour. Now thepopulation of the United Kingdom has incread to sixty-five million.Three-quarters of Britain is covered with fields, towns or cities. Although
25percent of land is countryside, new methods of farming mean that there arefewer birds and small animals living in fields than ever before. The UnitedKingdom is one of the few countries in the world that does not have a largewild animal that eats meat. In Scotland there are only 400 wild cats, but theare much smaller than wolves. Some people would like to change things, however,some organizations and writers say that Britain needs to become more naturalagain. They suggest that trees and plants that grew in the UK before towns andcities were built should be allowed to grow again. They even say that largewild animals which have not lived in the UK should be helped to retur
n and livewild. They call this 'rewilding'.
Not everyone agrees. In the last twentyyears, over one million trees which at first grew in Scotland have been plantedand there are plans for more—but wild animals? Some people ask if wolves willattack sheep or even humans. They are also angry that rewilding might mean anend to walking in the hills which so many people enjoy. So far there are nowolves or bears in Britain's forests — but soon there might be!
