Dr Shahram Heshmat, a professor of health economics at the University of Illinois, suggests some ways to become more resilient. First, it is important to have a meaningful goal, which will enable you to focus on achieving the desired outcome despite negative situations. Second, developing emotional regulation and relaxation techniques are crucial in helping reduce stress levels. Breathing exercis are one of many effective methods ud t
o relieve tension. Third, it is important to ek opportunities for personal growth and view difficulties as a learning opportunity. The last step for becoming more resilient is to ensure that you have a good social support system available to provide comfort and guidance during difficult times.
In summary, having a high AQ means being able to withstand adversity and come out stronger on the other side. By tting meaningful goals, regulating emotions, eing challenges as opportunities, and having a strong network of support, we can improve our resilience. We cannot always control what happens to us, but by practising the four steps, we can be better prepared to cope with whatever adversity comes our way.
