Henrik Ibn: Actually, I may now be in the same situation that you’ve been through, Doctor. Everybody I once tried to help has turned against me.
Dr. Stockmann: Is that so? And what did you do exactly?

Dr. Stockmann: No doubt!

Dr. Stockmann: Oh good evening Peter! I didn’t expect to e you so soon.
Peter Stockmanndiver: I just received your letter when I came back from work today, and I couldn’t wait. (Takes out a letter and shows to Dr. Stockmann) Now, tell me, what is this?
Dr. Stockmann: Haven’t you read it? It’s a lab report of the water in the Baths. Can you believe that? The whole Baths are poisonous! The waste water of the factory is infecting the water in the conduit-pipes leading to the rervoir! No wonder people in this town are getting sick.
Peter Stockmann: (A little bit annoyed) I mean what is it that you are going to do to me?
Dr. Stockmann: It’s not about you, Peter. It’s about the Baths and the health of the people.  The Baths must be reconstructed, otherwi it would be harmful and uless. Certainly your help is needed, as the mayor, if that’s what you mean.
kebabPeter Stockmann: Do you really not understand? Have you ever thought about how much it costs to reconstruct the Baths? I shall have to ask the share-holders for money! And do you realize such a big project will spend at least two years? The Baths is the bigg
est business in the town. If it is shut for two years, who are compensating for the economical loss to the people?
Dr. Stockmann: Oh… I SEE! So you don’t want to do anything about it. Becau you're afraid that you will lo your reputation and the supports from share-holders! Do you suppo I don’t e through you?
Peter Stockmann: And even if that were true? If I perhaps guard my reputation, it is in the interests of the town. Whatever discovery you've made about the Baths, you cannot let it known!
Dr. Stockmann: I am afraid it’s too late, my dear Peter. The people derve to know about the truth. I have written an article and nt it to the People's Mesnger. As soon as it is published, I don’t think you will have many choices.

Dr. Stockmann: (Picks up the letter, thinks a little while) I need to do something before it’s too late! (Leaves the hou anxiously)
(In the office of People’s Mesnger, Hovstad and Aslakn are sitting together, discussing over a document.)
Dr. Stockmann: (Breaks in the office, startling Hovstad and Aslakn) Good evening Mrs. Hovstad, Mr. Aslakn, I know it is inappropriate to come at this time at night. But I really have to discuss with you about the article of the Baths.
Hovstad: Oh never mind, Dr. Stockmann. Actually, we are talking about it as well.
Aslakn: Doctor, are you really starting a programme of reconstructing the Baths? Well, I have to say that I will back that up by every means. It may be not bad to have us small tradesmen at your back. As you know, we form the majority in the town. It is always good to have the majority with you, Doctor.
