摘要：The invention relates to pipeline transport of hydrocarbons. The technical result is that of providing incread functional capabilities by enabling the detection of accumulations of water in a pipeline, and also improving the efficiency of the drying process. During a purging process in a method for drying a gas pipeline, the moisture content of the drying air is reduced by installing air drying devices in by-pass lines at block valve stations along the pipeline to be dried. Purging is carried out until a normalized dew point temperature value is reached at the outlet of the pipeline being dried. Purging is then interrupted for 12 hours or more, after which purging is resumed with continuous measurement of the moisture content of the drying air, and the moment when the moisture content of the drying air exceeds the normalized dew point temperature value is registered. Next, the distance from the site of an accumulation of water to the upstream end of the pipeline is determined, the accumulated water is removed and purging is continued until the dew point temperature value of the drying air reaches the normalized value.
