1.Field of application
This standard shall apply to dimensions ,material ,internal and external surface quality and marking of amless and welded stainless steel pipes for pipeline systems in the food industry .It shall apply in conjunction with 17456 to amless pipes and DIN 17455 to welded pipes .
2.Dimension
The dimension and permissible deviations of the pipes are listed in Table 1

for pipes according to this standard:
_ Name ( pipe )
_ DIN number of this dimension standard ( DIN11850 )
_ Characteristic dimensions of the pipe . pipe outside diameter x wall thickness ( e Table 1 )
_ DIN number of the technical specification ( welded pipes DIN17455 , amless pipes DIN 17456 )
_ Material number for the steel grade
_ Abbreviation for the surface quality (e Table 2 )
Example :
Designation of a welded pipe according to this standard with a pipe outside of 40 mm and a wall thickness of 1 mm conforming to the technical specifications according to DIN 17455 made of steel ( material number 1.4301 ) surface quality finish BB:
