美国流行文化给世界各族文化带来的影响
World culture will become more or less American
No one can deny that American culture has great influence over other countries with the assistance of its international companies all over the world and advanced communication technology. Since the 20th century, the mainstream of American culture has been exported abroad fiercely and “Americanization” has become a global phenomenon which is unavoidable to many countries. People around the world ud to drink Coca Cola, eat food from McDonald's, wear clothing made in America or of American style, watch Hollywood films and NBA games, save and carry dollar as a hard currency, speak American English, u the Windows and Intel system day and night on the Internet. The are all the output of American culture. Therefore, I strongly argue for the claim that world culture will become more or less American. In order to support this argument, the following evidences are listed.
To begin with, I want to talk about how American is changing the food people eat. KFC, McDo nald’s, Starbucks and some other international chains which were founded in Americ
a are now famous and popular through the whole world. Just as Vicente said (24), McDonald’s has become a worldwide brand with more than 40,000 franchis located in over one hundred counties. Here we take China as an example. In China, you can find more than one KFC and McDonald’s almost in every city. According to Ouroussoff (40), McDonald’s and Dairy Queen can be found in Shenzhen decades ago. Also, people love to spend their leisure afternoons in Starbucks chatting with friends or just enjoy the atmosphere there.
Meaning while, American media also lead the trend of the world and help American culture to penetrate into other cultures. American TV ries enjoy huge popularity, especially among the youths. Many non-American Teenagers or college students can name some well-known American TV ries such as “Friends”, “desperate houwives”, “Two broke girls”and so on. In turn, the habits, customs, value Americanize them in cret. Moreover, CNN contribute to the process of Americanization as well. According to Pico Iyer (194), CNN had reaches over 140 counties. Most importantly, Hollywood acts a method to deliver American culture to other countries. Many films of Hollywood are releas

American celebrities such as Jordan, Madonna, and Angelina Jolie have become a new generation idol with fans of different nationality, different race and different religions. This film and television culture works contain a lot of information about entertainment, fashion or even language, which advocates American culture intenly and make it possible for American culture to expand extensively. For instance, the widely u words in American TV shows such as “cool”, “come on”, “guys” almost become universal globally since even people who don’t speak English can also understand the words. Another point to mention, the dress style of heroine in the movies affects the audience's aesthetic largely. In the 1950s, most of famous American actors in Hollywood movies wore jeans. With

The most powerful evidence to prove that American culture is homogenized other cultures is the change of value. As is known to all, Americans appreciate upward mobility 复眼是什么意思
and individualism and justice. America is regarded as a melting-pot of hopefulness. People there are more open-minded and enthusiastic and independent. As far as I know, Chine people are changing their value in some certain aspect to some extent. In the past, when Chine people get together to have a party or dinner, the common ca is that one of them who is rich or in turn will bear all the bills. They thought that going Dutch is impersonal as if all the attendees have no relationship with each other. However, nowadays going Dutch is acceptable. Besides this, America also advocates to respect human rights and comply with the laws. The United States is a country with relatively perfect legal system. They are also affecting many countries in the prervation of human rights. For example, discrimination is not as rious as in some traditional countries. America accepts people of different gender, different race, or even different x orientation. This t a good example for the followers. Approaches of America have attracted people to reconsider some traditional views. The idea of the preference for sons is slowly changing and Gays and lesbians also begin to be accepted. In India, people are incorporated into the mainstream of American culture and Indian women have absorbed
much of American culture and participate in non-Indian events, and wear up-to-date clothing (Powers, 242).

Joph (208) thinks globalization will not homogenizing or Americanizing the culture of the world. Pico Iyer (195) firmly believed that the world will not become America. In his opinion, the culture influence is mutual. As more and more of the globe become similar to America, America itlf also looks like the former. To some extent, this statement is true. However, it ignores the varying degrees of mutual influence. Apparent, American culture influence other cultures more than the latter do to the former. No one can name a county who culture has the same forceful influence as American culture does.
To sum up, Americanization is an unstoppable trend as America is taking the lead in globalization both in fields of culture and scientific technology. Many other counties e America as a model for future development. The point is that Americanization is also a tw
fablesso-edged sword. On one hand, other countries can pick up some positive things to improve and enrich themlves. Americanization will lead to a more efficient allocation of capital and enable counties to cope with the opportunities of globalization (Payne, 145). On the other hand, some countries will lo their own cultures and identities at the same time. As a result, multiculturalism will disappear and American culture will take its place, which is not good for the history and
civilization of human beings in the long run. Therefore, though I admit that world culture will become more or less American; I don’t in favor of Americanization. Reference
