Study on the Influence of Comprehensive Physical and Mental Intervention on Mild Depression Among College Students

Abstract: To explore the influence of comprehensive intervention scheme combining aerobic exerci and group psychological counling on the psychological status of college students with mild to moderate depression. The methods are that 120 subjects were randomly divided into three groups, and three intervention measures of aerobic exerci, group psychological counling and physical and mental integration were implemented for 16 weeks respectively. The results are that exerci has obvious intervention effect on sleep disturbance factors (P < 0.01), and there is a significant difference between aerobic exerci group and team psychological counling group (P < 0.05), while the comprehensive physical and mental intervention group shows a very significant difference (P < 0.01). The conclusion is that exerci has an intervention effect on every depressive factor. Psychological counling is the basic method to relieve college students’ depression, and sports intervention is the necessary and effective means to relieve college students’ depression. The comprehensive intervention method combining the two is more effective.

1. Introduction

Depression is also one of the main reasons leading to poor academic performance, suspension from school and dropping out of school. Bad on the teaching experiment, this study takes the group of college students with mild depression as the rearch object, and eks for the mechanism and theoretical basis of the intervention means of combining aerobic exerci with psychological counling on depression, so as to demonstrate the positive effect of this comprehensive intervention means on depression.

2. Rearch Objects and Methods
(1) Rearch object: Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD-24) was ud to conduct a questionnaire survey among college students in our college, with a total of 3,000 respondents. In the group with HAMD score ≥18, 120 students who volunteered to participate in this experiment were lected as the rearch object.
(2) Rearch methods: HAMD scores of each group of students are expresd by the mean standard deviation, the data are procesd by SPSS22.0 software, and the correlation analysis is carried out by t test and x2 test respectively.
1) Experimental grouping and requirements: The lected students were subjected to a 16-week intervention experiment, and the subjects were randomly divided into aerobic exerci group (T1), group psychological counling group (T2), comprehensive physical and mental intervention group (T3) and control group (T4). There are 30 people in each group, and the average HAMD scores of th
e four groups are compared before the experiment, and there is no significant difference (P > 0.05), and then the exerci prescriptions of different contents in each group are formulated.
2) Intervention plan and requirements
① Aerobic exerci group: slow relaxation running, variable speed running and 12-minute free running twice a week (not less than 1600 meters).
② Team psychological counling group: using teaching method, conversation method, discussion method, multimedia teaching method and other methods to complete the education of psychological stress-related knowledge. The intervention time is once a week, and each time lasts about 45 minutes.
③ Physical and mental comprehensive intervention group: team psychological intervention is conducted once a week (Friday afternoon), and teams such as foot, basketball and volleyball are conducted twice a week.
④ The control group did not carry out any organized intervention activities, but arranged activities by itlf.
3. Results and Analysis

(2) Analysis and discussion
In this study, the combination of sports prescription and group psychotherapy was ud to try to intervene and treat depresd college students, and achieved good results. The results showed that the depression level of the experimental group (T1, T2, T3) was significantly reduced, among which the comprehensive intervention of aerobic exerci and group psychological counling had the most significant improvement effect, while the control group (T4) had no significant improvement. At prent, there are many ways and means to treat and improve depression among various groups of people. In group psychotherapy, depresd college students begin to face up to their psychological problems, and their social aspects have been greatly improved, changing the original negative cognitive structure. The main reasons for the change are as follows. (1) In the process of group counling, many students realize that their depression is not just a ca, and other students have the same troubles as themlves, thus alleviating the anxiety caud by unique loneliness and helplessness. (2) Students support and help each other to find the value and happiness they have n
ot found. (3) Through the description and communication of role models in group psychological counling, it is easier to come into contact with some deep-ated problems and actively solve them. (4) The restraint of collective unconsciousness makes everyone tend to keep a positive attitude and explore the positive aspects of growth confusion, and can find a reasonable explanation for the caus of depression in their own growth.
Foreign scholars have carried out rearch on the intervention of aerobic exerci on college students’ depression earlier. Dilorenzo et al. (1999) found that aerobic exerci can effectively reduce the average score of depression rating scale of patients with depression, and it can still maintain a good effect after 12 months of intervention. After 8 weeks of moderate-intensity aerobic exerci intervention, patients with depression can significantly improve cognitive control, depressive symptoms and ruminant thinking mode (Olsone al., 2017). After receiving the intervention treatment of Baduanjin, the depression score of college students with depression decread significantly and their physical functions improved significantly (Tan Zhigang et al., 2020). In recent years, there are many aerobic sports in China, such as Tai Chi, Baduanjin and group aerobics, which have been proved to significantly improve the depression performance of patients with depression. (3) In simple sports, the muscles of the body are actively exercid, and the excitement transmitted by each muscle group to the brain is incread, which makes people feel high, easily makes depresd students feel happy physically and mentally, and then builds a harmonious atmosphere and cultivates confident and optimistic character. (4) Sports can relea and vent students’ bad emotions, and supplement and restore their good emotions.

The comprehensive intervention method organically combines sports and group psychological counling, gives full play to their advantages and avoids their negative effects. It has the advantages of high compliance, strong operability and few side effects. It can be said that it is an economic and green intervention method for depression, which should be unanimously recognized by the majority of scientific rearch workers and medical circles and recommended as a number of treatment guidelines.

4. Conclusion
