There are many customs on the Dragon Boat Festival, such as: rowin g dragon boats, eating Zongzi, tying five silk threads, and so on. Of cour, my mother had already tied the five silk threads on my wrist a nd ankle before the sun came out. Listen to my mother, the five wire r ope, also known as the Long Life Thread, is a beautiful expectation th at parents hope their children can live a hundred years!
In the evening, my mother bought a bag of Zongzi. Zongzi is wrappe d in bamboo leaves, like green dolls, and can smell a sweet fragrance from afar. Peel off the bamboo leaves and take a bite, the glutinous r ice turns red. Take another bite, it tastes sweet and smooth. It's rea lly sweet and delicious! While eating Zongzi, I thought of Qu Yuan, a historical figure. Back then, Qu was betrayed by a villain and committ ed suicide by throwing himlf into Jiang with injustice. Local people went to the Miluo River to salvage corps but were unsuccessful, so t hey threw eggs and cooked rice into the Miluo River. It is said that w hen fish and shrimp are full, they will not eat Qu Yuan's body.
Mom also made strawberry soup, the red strawberries t off the th ick soup, it's really delicious!
