邀请函的翻译
邀请函有正式与非正式之分。正式的邀请函对格式的要求非常严格，须认真对待，以免贻笑大方。撰写邀请函时应注意：正文写中间；应用第三人称；正文中可用标点符号，但末尾无标点；正文中的数字应用英文书写，而不能用阿拉伯数字。
例如：
(一)正式邀请函
为了欢迎约翰欧文先生，托马斯罗伯特博士暨夫人荣幸地邀请罗杰克拉克先生暨夫人出席于9月20日星期四晚8点在北大街100号举行的晚宴。

在接受邀请函中，地点可忽略不再重复。
（三）拒绝邀请

在拒绝函中一般不写出具体几点钟，而且拒绝的原因应写在开头，且一般不用becau of 或due to而用owe to。因为邀请函通常只一句话，所以每行开头首字母皆不用大写。

四月二十七日周三下午一时您能来我家吃中饭吗？我侄女爱丽斯史密斯那天会来我家。常听您说起您想见见她。
真希望您能来。
