英国概况
1.Geography
The British Isles are a group of islands situated off the continent of Europe. The British state is made up of Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland) and Northern Ireland. Its full name is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK).
2.London, the Capital
The oldest part of the capital, the City of London is situated on the north bank of the River Thames. Here are also the Royal Courts of Justice and St Paul’s Cathedral (劳动感悟200字圣保罗大教堂). 3. Politics
(1)Government and Administration
The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy. The head of State is king or queen. In practice, the Sovereign doesn’t rule. The United Kingdom is governed, in the name of the Sovereign, by his or her Majesty’s Government——a body of Ministers.
There is no written constitution in UK. It is made up of statute (法令) law, common law and conventions.

(3)The Parliament
The British Parliament which has a maximum duration of 5 years consists of two chambers, the Hou of Lords and the Hou of Commons(上下院). To the full n, the British Parliament consists of the Sovereign, the Hou of Lords and the Hou of Commons. Today, the Hou of Commons is the most powerful part of Parliament.
The Hou of Lords is made up of the Lords Spiritual(神职议员)and the Lords Temporal(世俗议员), which is presided by the Lord Chancellor(大法官).
The Hou of Commons is elected by universal adult suffrage(选举) and consists of 651 Members of Parliament. It is in the Hou of Commons that the ultimate authority for law-making resides.

(4)Political Parties
There are two major parties in Britain, the Labor Party and the Conrvative Party. The leader of the party that wins the most ats is asked to form a government and the leader becomes the Prime Minister and lects his or her cabinet.

Her Majesty’s Government is the body of ministers responsible for the conduct of national affairs. The Prime Minister presides over the cabinet and about 20 nior ministers compo the Cabinet. Ministers are responsible collectively to Parliament for all Cabinet decisions.历史成本原则

His tenure ended in May 2010, when he resigned as Prime Minister and Leader of the Labour Party.
David William Donald Cameron (born 9 October 1966) is the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, First Lord of the Treasury, and Leader of the Conrvative Party. Cameron reprents Witneyas its Member of Parliament (MP). He is the youngest Prime Minister.
(6)The Privy Council
The Privy Council was formerly the chief source of executive power in the state, which can be traced back to the King’s Council, which in the 13th century gave the sovereign private advice on the government of the country.
Today, its role is largely formal, advising the sovereign to approve certain government decrees and issuing royal proclamations. Its membership is about 400 and includes all Cabinet ministers, the speakers of the Hou of Common and the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.
