I also notice that there are a lot of statistics provided in English-writen articles,especially in academic ones.It is quite different from the way in my country(China),people in which are more likely to explain sth by prenting a number of theories.
As to "Why authors like to write statistics",i guess it is partly becau of the way of thinking that western people generally have.In their minds, statistics are more reliable than other methods of demonstration.
And admittedly, some of statistics are not correct(ie,invented by authors)and can mislead readers.We could u what we have studied in class to distinguish accurate information from inaccurate ones.

I almost agree with your idea.The reason why English becomes the main-stream global language is that most English-speaking countries are powerful financially,militarily and even culturally. And it is totally reasonable that less stronger countries learn good points from tho big countries.The medium that bridge them together is English.

With a common language,the weaker can gain good experience and technique fromt the stronger and then improve themlves.On the hand other, the stronger can also benefit from other countries such as gaining money and importing competent people.

I would not like to talk about money issue in terms of global economy or business becau it is rather a rious and complicated problem.As to me, I don't care about how rich I will be in the future. It is becau that even when one considers him to be very wealthy, but the reality is that somebody must be richer than him or her.So my point is that the most important thing of our life is happiness.Of cour money is one of the ways that can make people happy becau with alot money people can buy whatever they want. They will gain a n of satisfaction.Apart from money, friendship and family can also lead to happiness.Maybe to gain a large amout of wealth is far from an easy task for everybody but everybody can get access to find many clo friends if you want.Moreover, the true love cannot be attained merely by money.
