ACT 1
SCENE: There are two couches on the stage, one of which sits OLD Dr. Stockmann, and the other sits Henrik Ibn.
Dr. Stockmann: So, Mr. Henrik Ibn, what is it that makes you come all the way here?
Henrik Ibn: Dr. Stockmann. I want to ask you about the Baths event happened a few decades ago, becau I want to write a new play bad on it.

SCENE - DR. STOCKMANN’S sitting-room. It is evening. The room is plainly but neatly appointed and furnished. In the right-hand wall are one door leads out to the hall. In the middle of the wall places a couch with a looking-glass hanging over it and an oval table in front of it. On the table, a lighted lamp, with a lampshade. Dr. Stockmann is sitting in the couch, reading newspaper.]
(Knocking sound. Dr. Stockmann opens the door; Peter Stockmann comes in)
Peter Stockmann: Good evening my sister!
Dr. Stockmann: Oh good evening Peter! I didn’t expect to e you so soon.
Peter Stockmann: I just received your letter when I came back from work today, and I couldn’t wait回家路上. (Takes out a letter and shows to Dr. Stockmann) Now, tell me, what is this?
Dr. Stockmann: Haven’t you read it? It’s a lab report of the water in the Baths. Can you believe that? The whole Baths are poisonous! The waste water of the factory is infecting the water in the conduit-pipes leading to the rervoir! No wonder people in this town are getting sick.
Peter Stockmann: (A little bit annoyed) I mean what is it that you are going to do to me?
Dr. Stockmann: It’s not about you, Peter. It’s about the Baths and the health of the people. The Baths must be reconstructed, otherwi it would be harmful and uless. Certainly your help is needed, as the mayor, if that’s what you mean.优思明的副作用

Peter Stockmann: And even if that were true? If I perhaps guard my reputation, it is in the interests of the town. Whatever discovery you've made about the Baths, you cannot let it known!
Dr. Stockmann: I am afraid it’s too late, my dear Peter. The people derve to know about the truth. I have written an article and nt it to the People's Mesnger. As soon as it is published, I don’t think you will have many choices.
Peter Stockmann: How dare you? I'm your brother! Do think about the conquences! I won’t let you ruin my career! (Throws the letter on the floor and leaves the hou angrily)
Dr. Stockmann: (Picks up the letter, thinks a little while) I need to do something before it’s too late! (Leaves the hou anxiously)
(In the office of People’s Mesnger, Hovstad and Aslakn are sitting together, discussing over a document.)
Dr. Stockmann: (Breaks in the office, startling Hovstad and Aslakn) Good evening Mrs. Hovstad, Mr. Aslakn, I know it is inappropriate to come at this time at night. But I really have to discuss with you about the article of the Baths.
