摘要：PURPOSE:To detect the abutting state of the mating face of a mold with higher precision by comparing the position of a movable platen at the time for closing the mold in one molding cycle with the position of this movable platen at a time for closing the mold in the molding cycle of the preceding time wherein a molding actuation has been normally performed. CONSTITUTION:The title mold protector is equipped with a position detection means 21 for detecting the position of a movable platen 6, a memory means 22 for storing position information at the time for closing the mold in the molding cycle of the preceding time and a limit value tting means 25 for tting the allowable limit value. Furthermore the said mold protector is provided with an arithmetic means for calculating the difference of the prent position of the movable platen 6 and the value stored in the memory means 22 and a comparison means for comparing the calculated result with the pret limit value. The arithmetic means and comparison means are actually constituted of the CPU 27 of a microcomputer. Only when the difference of the position of the movable platen 6 detected at the time for closing the mold and the value stored in the memory means 22 is regulated to a range within the limit value t in the limit value tting means 25, the clamping actuation is performed.
