Capital Letters
1. The names of professions and official positions begin with capital letters if they are ud as titles:
My father is a major.
Have you heard that Major Saunders will be there?
He's been appointed archbishop of Canterbury.
Here is Archbishop Ramsay.
2. Capitals are ud for creeds, confessions, and religious denominations:传统美术
Christianity, Catholicism, Protestantism; Islam; Buddhism Christian, Catholic, Protestant; Muslim; Buddhist
3. Capitals begin the names of events, periods and epochs in history, literature and geology. They are also ud in laws and treaties etc:
the Battle of Hastings, the War of Jenkins' Ear, the Weimar Republic, the Renaissance, the Triassic, the Middle Ages, the Western Roman Empire, the Second Amendment etc.
4. Capitals begin the names of geographical areas:
the New World, the Middle East, the Deep South
5. Capitals are ud in the titles of all books, essays, poems, songs, periodicals etc. with the exception of unemphatic prepositions, conjunctions and articles:

6. A direct quotation often begins with a capital letter, except when common n dictates otherwi:
To quote Jesus: "Leave the dead to bury their dead".

7. A direct question placed within a ntence begins with a capital letter:
努力努力再努力 In investigating such crimes the thing one must ask onelf is, 'Who can benefit?'
