1 I think motor racing, boxing and climbing
must all be rather dangerous. Skiing too – it
isn’t difficult to break a leg when skiing.
2 They say golf is a rich man’s game as you have
to join an expensive club.
3 Definitely basketball. I love the NBA finals!
4 Basketball is demanding in many different
ways – you need strong legs and arms and a
lot of energy, and a good boxer needs to have
power in his punches.
5 I suppo we can all play a bit of football,
table tennis and basketball, but you cannot
just go boxing, climbing, motor racing, sailing
or skiing without lessons and experience.
6 Certainly a lot of working women relax with
tennis. And if you think of older women, t’ai
chi becomes very popular.
7 I don’t think people often have competitions
in climbing. Probably not many in fishing
either, but when friends go out fishing
together they compare their catch and one
with the biggest and best fish will feel plead.
8 Man against nature – let’s e. Climbing is
you against the rock or mountain. Fishing is
you against the fish. Sailing and skiing involve
dealing with the a and snow. Swimming
is man against water; t’ai chi again is very
different as it is people working with nature.
9 Races – in the usual n of the word that is
带中的成语motor racing, sailing, skiing, and swimming.
But there is a lot of racing to be the first
to get to the ball in basketball, rugby and
football, and there can be races against time
in climbing and fishing.
10 This is very personal. I would hate to go
fishing. It is so slow and boring and I don’t
