9415/69 Heading C5D A personal washing tablet compris a tallow type soap and a water-soluble alkali metal or alkaline earth metal primary or condary alkyl sulphate or mixture of alkyl sulphates, all alkyl sulphate molecules having total carbons of 7 to 14 per molecule, at least 50% of the molecules being alkyl branched molecules, all molecules having 5 to 9 carbon atoms in a straight chain. The alkyl sulphate may be replaced wholly or in part by a water-soluble alkali metal or alkaline earth metal primary or condary alkyl ethoxy sulphate which is an alkyl sulphate as defined above but having up to 6 mols ethylene oxide per mol of sulphate. The tablet may contain 3- 3% by weight of the alkyl sulphate. A saturated or mono-unsaturated fatty acid of 10 to 24 carbon atoms may be included as superfatting agent. Optional ingredients are (a) up to 10% of nut oil soap, (b) glyceryl monostearate and cetyl alcohol, (c) emollients and/or lather modifiers, (d) binders, gums, mucilages or synthetic polymeric substances for imparting "slip", (e) colouring agents, opacifiers, pigments, optical brighteners, bactericides, fugicides, prervatives, perfumes, questering agents, gluco or glycerin.
