The cond chart compares figures for the marital status of American adults in 1970 and 2000.Proportion of never married adult in 1970 was about 13%, in comparison with 20% in 2000. Around 70% of American adults were married in 1970, 10% higher than that in 2000. it is note worthy that American had the almost same percentage of widowed people in two years, and the divorce rate ro by about 10% at the same time.
