A study has found that high levels of background noi can diminish the nsitivity of people's palates, making food taste less appealing. Blindfolded volunteers were given a range of foods to try while being played different levels of noi. Their respons indicated that flavors - such as sweetness and saltiness - can taste less strong with loud
background noi.

'广州版'购房限令终出炉
Guangzhou relead stricter new measures to curb its heated property market Friday, banning non-resident families living temporarily in Guangzhou from buying any housing. The same rule applys to tho under age 18. Families with permanent residential permits (hukou) and tho who have stayed for more than one year are only allowed to buy one hou. The measure also requires 2nd home buyers to make a down payment of no less
than 50%.
为遏制房价过快上涨，广州15日正式出台了"限购令"，规定广州户籍家庭和常住家庭(即连续居住满1年以上者)只能新购一套商品住宅，非常住的外地家庭不得购买商品住房，未满18岁的人士不能单独购买商品住房。此外，第二套房贷首付比例不得低于5成。
#长三角进入'限购时代'
Guangzhou is the 10th city to limit hou purchas after Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Xiamen and Tianjin. Chongqing is the only first-tier city in the Yangtze
River Delta region which has not yet implemented such limits.

One hundred people have now been killed in a rabies outbreak on Indonesia's resort island of Bali, the Independent reported Friday. A40-year-old villager died on Thursday night after being admitted to hospital with symptoms of the dia. Several countries, including the United States and Australia, have issued advice, telling travelers they should get vaccinations and stay clear of dogs roaming the white-sand beaches.
