“We invited the school orchestra to perform,”said Yang,13. “We also called on students with other talents to take part.”
“We never imagined so many people would want to help,”said Wang,13. “When we went to class, the students all ran up to us,so we could only choo some of them.”
Finally,21 students were chon to perform. They practiced at lunchtime and after school. They handed out flyers in the city. The school also nt messages to students’ parents to get help.
The performance lasted one hour, and many people came to watch it.One kid donated all his pocket money.A patient donated some of his medical fees and got the cell phone number of Huang’s father,so he could call and tell him how tol fight cancer. The students raid 78,000 yuan in one day.

Let’s not hate our teachers
Do we dislike our teachers becau they are really bad?Or is it becau we can’t adapt to their teaching style,or becau careless teachers spoiled us?
One day,my Spanish teacher asked us to take out a work worksheet she gave us some time ago. Most of us didn’t have it.Some students had thrown it away, some had lost it.The teacher said she would punish us if something like that happened again.
“What’s wrong with her?”one girl asked after the teacher left. “It has been more than a week since she gave it to us.”
“Maybe we should all not bring it next time,”another added. “It’s not like she can punish all of us.”
“Stop being spoiled brats,”I wanted to say,but didn’t.
Almost everyone hated my venth grade history teacher. Her class was very hard, and she gave many of us bad grades. She also shouted at people. But she was fun when she wasn’t angry.Although I had some bad feelings toward her, I didn’t hate her at all, even though her class was the only one I never got an A in.
Some students also didn’t like my sixth grade science teacher. They said she was strange. She made strange songs ang sang them in class.Sometimes she played classical music.I found that interesting, but some found that strange.
When you are unhappy, get a bad grade,or find a teacher strange, you have to remember that you shouldn’t dislike a teacher just becau of that.
Red meat kills,say experts
Many people like eating meat so much that they can’t enjoy a single meal without it.After eing a new study, they may want to change their eating habits.
Scientists at the Harvard School of Public Health have found that having too much red meat can cau a higher risk of early death. The”dangerous”meats are the ones that look red before they’re cooked, such as pork, lamb, beef, venison and rabbit. Scientists published the study results in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
The scientists studied the eating habits and health of more than 110,000 adults formore t
han 20 years. They completed questionnaires about their diets every four years.During the 20-odd years of rearch, almost 24,000people died, including 5,910 from heart dia and 9,464 from cancer.
Scientists analyzed different lifestyle factors, including age, weight, physical activity and family history of heart dia. They also studied the amount of different foods they ate.such as grains, fruits and vegetables, nuts and fish.
The results showed that eating one meal a day of cooked red meat(about one hot dog or teo slices of bacon)was connected with a 20 percent bigger risk of early death.
“The message we want to communicate is it would be great if you could lower your intake of red meat consumption to half a rving a day or two to three rving a week,”the study’s lead author,An Pan told the USA Today. The study suggests that eating foods such as fish, nuts and beans instead of red meat may lower the risk of early death.
