Step 1 Lead-in (10 minutes)
1. Ss look at some pictures and describe how the people feel.
2. Ss discuss when they feel the emotions.
e.g. I usually feel (upt) before an important exam.

3. Ss read the definitions of empathy/ sympathy
4. Ss distinguish one word from the other.
