They come from South America and can live as long as ven or eight years.     Housing     Your Guinea Pigs can be kept indoors all year round. They do not like sudden loud nois, so it's best  to put their cages in a quiet place. A wooden cage is good, although a metal cage can also be ud if it has a plastic floor.     Feeding     Guinea Pigs only eat grass and other plants. It's important to give them some fresh fruit and vegetables.  Fresh drinking water should always be provided in a bottle, and food should be given in bowls, Guinea  Pigs will eat plastic!     Looking after your Guinea Pigs     Give your Guinea Pigs as much exerci as possible, and provide them with an outdoor run, but be sure to keep cats and dogs out of the way.     Young Guinea Pigs are nervous. For the first few days, talk gently to your Guinea Pigs to build up trust,  then slowly introduce your hands into the cage. Your Guinea Pigs will become curious and more  confident around you.
