good morning/evening/afternoon, ladies and gentlemen :

today, my speech is about talents,in my opionion, talents are

indispensable in nowadays society. as is known to all that the

fight among countries is actually the fight among talents.

first, i'd like to define the word"talent" in my idea, a talent is

one person who is good at or expertid in some or multiple

areas. nowadays, as the world developing goes on , if one

country want to rank top or do a good job in the world, the

country must have many example, china, the biggest

developing country in the world, in the past 100 years, is always

invaded by other countries, why ,the reason is that china at that

time had not so many talents. if they had anti-intrusion leader

talents in the war, needless to say, they would have beat tho big

they had talents in weapons manufacturing, nodody

dares to provoke r, nowadays, it's a totally different

situation, china has become powerfulin all over the world, why ?

becau there are many talents rving the country, the civilians

become more and more and more people go to

university, more and more people come to receive further

education. so what is that in return, talents in army protect our

country from invasion, talents in commerce help make our

economy keep in improving, talents in aerospace make the world

e chine manned spacecraft flying. talents in sports make

china rank the first in the

to sum up, talents will play a more and more impoetant role

in the world, if one country intends to flourish, he must foster

talents as many as they can ,that's all, thank you.

what would you do if you failed? many people may choo

to give up. however, the surest way to success is to keep your

direction and stick to your goal.

on your way to success, you must keep your direction. it is

just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you

overcome obstacles on your way. otherwi, you will easily get

lost or hesitate to go ahead.

direction means objectives. you can get nowhere without an

objective in life.

you can try to write your objective on paper and make some

plans to achieve it. in this way, you will know how to arrange your

time and to spend your time properly. and you should also have

a belief that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your

direction all the time.

In this day and age, environmental degradation prents

great danger to thepublic. People in my country, and other places,

have to bear polluted water andhaze day after day. As public

awareness of the need for environmental protectiongrows in

the countries, it is urgent to learn how to establish a green

lifestyle.

To achieve a green life style, we must adjust our behavior.

This can bedone even with simple things. For example, we could

sort out our trash forbetter recycling. At home, we can u lights

and other electricity only whenneeded. We should properly

maintain air conditioners twice a year so they willrun efficiently,

and, even more importantly, make sure doors and windows

fitproperly and are aled so that we can u less energy in

heating and simple steps that make a big

difference include using publictransportation instead of driving

private cars.

Commuters can choo to take bus, subways or share cars

with others, which not only relieves traffic jams but also reduces

gas emission.

In my mind, it is high time to establish a general concept of

sustainabledevelopment and green life style in China. The Earth

has provided humans whatthey need; it is time to pay back. Only

through a green life, can we ensure thatwe and our children live

in an environment with green water and mountains, without

traffic jams, and in an era with better living habits.

One in four computers in the world comes from China; but

from each computer produced, China earns only what 10 apples

are worth. I read this in People’ Daily not long ago. While the

force of globalization has spread Chine-made products all over

the world and earned China the name “world’s factory”, China

earns very little profits from this kind of low-cost production. It’s

even been said that China has to export 800 million shirts to get

an airplane.

The problem is, China has involved in countless process of

production, but doesn’t necessarily have the intellectual

property rights. If all we can be is part of the low-cost, labor-oriented production process, we’ll remain in a passive,

disadvantaged position and gradually lo our competitive edge

in the global arena. To develop China’s creative industry,

transforming products from "made in China" to "created in

China" has become one of China’s major tasks.

This transformation will be no less like a marathon, requiring

much effort especially that from Chine enterpris, the major

force in Chine economy. Though there’ s no one in front

leading us which direction to run, there’s much to learn from

some Chine enterpris that have already found the right

strategies and are shining on the global stage. The strategies

involve brand identity establishment, technological innovation

and modern management system.

Firstly, the brand that I mentioned above is an intangible yet

most valuable ast to a company. It gains credibility from

consumers, thus constituting the reason for consumers to buy

habitually. Tong Ren Tang, the largest producer of traditional

Chine medicine, remains one of the oldest surviving brand

names. The credibility that it gained through quality products has

made its name known worldwide and maintains its recognized

brand.

The cond strategy is innovation of technology, which helps

enterpris gain its core competency. In the global era where

technology emerges at a rapid speed, one has to adopt the latest

technology, and also to compete for the speed of developing

new ones. The success of Haier, the third largest houhold

appliances manufacturer in the world, lies in its constant

innovation. Over the past 16 years, Haier has invested a total of

7 billion RMB in technological development, using 6 percent of

its income for scientific rearch and the development of new

products. At prent, Haier's development operational speed is

turning out 1.3 new products a day, maintaining its upper-hand

in the fierce competition.

The third strategy is the establishment of modern

management system. New Hope Group, the National Leading

Enterpri for Agriculture, started from family-owned business.

When the business was soaring and situation was changing, the

family members had divergent views of management. To make

sure of the development of their business, they decided to turn

their company into a limited liability one, distributing property

rights efficiently. Becau of this, the company incread its

competitiveness rapidly. Establishing a modern management

system will lead to efficient levels of division of labor and efficient

patterns in the business cycle.

With brand identity, technology and flexibility, China’s

creative industries will blossom and give China the cutting edge

in the fierce global competition. One day, China will stand firm

and proud, with national brands thriving on the global markets,

and with millions of products tagged “created in China”,

instead of “made in China”.

If the Dream is Big Enough

I ud to watch her from my kitchen window, she emed so

small as she muscled her way through the crowd of boys on the

playground. The school was across the street from our home and

I would often watch the kids as they play edduring recess. A a

of children, and yet to me, she stood out from them all.

I remember the first day I saw her playing basketball. I

watched in wonder as she ran circles around the other kids. She

managed to shoot jump shots just over their heads and into the

net. The boys always tried to stop her but no one could. I began

to notice her at other times, basketball in hand, playing

would practice dribbling and shooting over and over again,

sometimes until dark.

One day I asked her why she practiced so much. She looked

directly in my eyes and without a moment of hesitation she said,

“I want to go to college. The only way I can go is if I get a

scholarship. I like basketball. I decided that if I were good enough,

I would get a scholarship. I am going to play college basketball.I

want to be the best. My Daddy told me if the dream is big enough,

the factsdon't count.”

Then she smiled and ran towards the court to recap the

routine I had en over and over again. Well, I had to give it to

her—she was determined.I watched her through tho junior

high years and into high school. Every week, she led her varsity

team to victory.

dribbling ['drɪbl]n.

One day in her nior year, I saw her sitting in the grass, head

cradled in her arms. I walked across the street and sat down in

the cool grass beside her. Quietly I asked what was wrong.

“Oh,nothing,” came a soft reply. “I am just too short.” The

coach told her that at 5’5” she would probably never get to

play for a top ranked team— much less offered a scholarship—so she should stop dreaming about college. She was heartbroken

and I felt my own throat tighten as I nd her disappointment.

I asked her if she had talked to her dad about it yet.

She lifted her head from her hands and told me that her

father said tho coaches were wrong. They just did not

understand the power of adream. He told her that if she really

wanted to play for a good college, if she truly wanted a

scholarship, that nothing could stop her except one thing — her

own attitude. He told her again, “If the dream is big enough, the

factsdon't count.”

The next year, as she and her team went to the Northern

CaliforniaChampionship game, she was en by a college

recruiter. She was indeed offered a scholarship, a full ride, to a

She was going to get the college education that she had

dreamed of and worked toward for all tho years.

It's true: If the dream is big enough, the facts don't count.

ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i’m very glad to

stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is

“youth”. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in

your youth so that more cherish it.

first i want to ask you some questions:

1、do you know what is youth?

2、how do you master your youth?

youth

youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy

cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions :

it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage

over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ea.

this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody

grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by

derting our ideals.

years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles

the soul . worry , fear , lf –distrust bows the heart and turns the

spirit back to dust .

whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart

the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s

next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart

and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives

messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men

and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with

snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown

old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves

of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

thank you!

hello everyone!

I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted,

every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places

will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight,

and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall

e it together.

Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But

the changing world ems telling me that people gradually get

their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and

sometimes I personally find mylf saying goodbye

unconsciously to tho distant childhood dreams.

However, we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they

reprent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality.

They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well

as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be

great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing

something big and splashy, something significant. Now what

we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them

into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no

ideas how to translate the dreams into actions. Well, just start

with concrete objectives and stick to it. Don’t let the nameless

fear confu the eye and confound our strong belief of future.

Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance

and through our creativity, we will make it.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when

dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear

friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it

is, pick it up and make it alive from today.

Thank you!

thank you, mr. chairman.

mr. chairman, i join my colleague mr. rangel in thanking you

for giving the junior members of this committee the glorious

opportunity of sharing the pain of this inquiry. mr. chairman, you

are a strong man, and it has not been easy but we have tried as

best we can to give you as much assistance as possible.

earlier today, we heard the beginning of the preamble to the

constitution of the united states: "we, the people." it's a very

eloquent beginning. but when that document was completed on

the venteenth of ptember in 1787, i was not included in that

"we, the people." i felt somehow for many years that george

washington and alexander hamilton just left me out by mistake.

but through the process of amendment, interpretation, and court

decision, i have finally been included in "we, the people."

today i am an inquisitor. an hyperbole would not be fictional

and would not overstate the solemnness that i feel right now. my

faith in the constitution is whole; it is complete; it is total. and i

am not going to sit here and be an idle spectator to the

diminution, the subversion, the destruction, of the constitution.

"who can so properly be the inquisitors for the nation as the

reprentatives of the nation themlves?" "the subjects of its

jurisdiction are tho offens which proceed from the

misconduct of public men."¹ and that's what we're talking about.

in other words, [the jurisdiction comes] from the abu or

violation of some public trust.

it is wrong, i suggest, it is a misreading of the constitution for

any member here to asrt that for a member to vote for an

article of impeachment means that that member must be

convinced that the president should be removed from office. the

constitution doesn't say that. the powers relating to

impeachment are an esntial check in the hands of the body of

the legislature against and upon the encroachments of the

executive. the division between the two branches of the

legislature, the hou and the nate, assigning to the one the

right to accu and to the other the right to judge, the framers

of this constitution were very astute. they did not make the

accurs and the judgers -- and the judges the same person.

we know the nature of impeachment. we've been talking

about it awhile now. it is chiefly designed for the president and

his high ministers to somehow be called into account. it is

designed to "bridle" the executive if he engages in excess. "it is

designed as a method of national inquest into the conduct of

public men."² the framers confided in the congress the power if

need be, to remove the president in order to strike a delicate

balance between a president swollen with power and grown

tyrannical, and prervation of the independence of the

executive.

the nature of impeachment: a narrowly channeled exception

to the paration-of-powers maxim. the federal convention of

1787 said that. it limited impeachment to high crimes and

misdemeanors and discounted and oppod the term

"maladministration." "it is to be ud only for great

misdemeanors," so it was said in the north carolina ratification

convention. and in the virginia ratification convention: "we do not

trust our liberty to a particular branch. we need one branch to

check the other."

"no one need be afraid" -- the north carolina ratification

convention -- "no one need be afraid that officers who commit

oppression will pass with immunity." "procutions of

impeachments will ldom fail to agitate the passions of the

whole community," said hamilton in the federalist papers,

number 65. "we divide into parties more or less friendly or

inimical to the accud."³ i do not mean political parties in that

n.

the drawing of political lines goes to the motivation behind

impeachment; but impeachment must proceed within the

confines of the constitutional term "high crime[s] and

misdemeanors." of the impeachment process, it was woodrow

wilson who said that "nothing short of the grosst offens

against the plain law of the land will suffice to give them speed

and effectiveness. indignation so great as to overgrow party

interest may cure a conviction; but nothing el can."

common n would be revolted if we engaged upon this

process for petty reasons. congress has a lot to do:

appropriations, tax reform, health insurance, campaign finance

reform, housing, environmental protection, energy sufficiency,

mass transportation. pettiness cannot be allowed to stand in the

face of such overwhelming problems. so today we are not being

petty. we are trying to be big, becau the task we have before

us is a big one.

this morning, in a discussion of the evidence, we were told

that the evidence which purports to support the allegations of

misu of the cia by the president is thin. we're told that that

evidence is insufficient. what that recital of the evidence this

morning did not include is what the president did know on june

the 23rd, 1972.

the president did know that it was republican money, that it

was money from the committee for the re-election of the

president, which was found in the posssion of one of the

burglars arrested on june the 17th. what the president did know

on the 23rd of june was the prior activities of e. howard hunt,

which included his participation in the break-in of daniel

ellsberg's psychiatrist, which included howard hunt's

participation in the dita beard itt affair, which included howard

hunt's fabrication of cables designed to discredit the kennedy

administration.

we were further cautioned today that perhaps the

proceedings ought to be delayed becau certainly there would

be new evidence forthcoming from the president of the united

states. there has not even been an obfuscated indication that this

committee would receive any additional materials from the

president. the committee subpoena is outstanding, and if the

president wants to supply that material, the committee sits here.

the fact is that on yesterday, the american people waited with

great anxiety for eight hours, not knowing whether their

president would obey an order of the supreme court of the

united states.

at this point, i would like to juxtapo a few of the

impeachment criteria with some of the actions the president has

engaged in. impeachment criteria: james madison, from the

virginia ratification convention. "if the president be connected in

any suspicious manner with any person and there be grounds to

believe that he will shelter him, he may be impeached."

we have heard time and time again that the evidence reflects

the payment to defendants money. the president had knowledge

that the funds were being paid and the were funds collected

for the 1972 presidential campaign. we know that the president

met with mr. henry petern 27 times to discuss matters related

to watergate, and immediately thereafter met with the very

persons who were implicated in the information mr. petern was

receiving. the words are: "if the president is connected in any

suspicious manner with any person and there be grounds to

believe that he will shelter that person, he may be impeached."

justice story: "impeachment" is attended -- "is intended for

occasional and extraordinary cas where a superior power

acting for the whole people is put into operation to protect their

rights and rescue their liberties from violations." we know about

the huston plan. we know about the break-in of the psychiatrist's

office. we know that there was absolute complete direction on

ptember 3rd when the president indicated that a surreptitious

entry had been made in dr. fielding's office, after having met with

mr. ehrlichman and mr. young. "protect their rights." "rescue their

liberties from violation."

the carolina ratification convention impeachment criteria:

tho are impeachable "who behave amiss or betray their public

trust."4 beginning shortly after the watergate break-in and

continuing to the prent time, the president has engaged in a

ries of public statements and actions designed to thwart the

lawful investigation by government procutors. moreover, the

president has made public announcements and asrtions

bearing on the watergate ca, which the evidence will show he

knew to be fal. the asrtions, fal asrtions, impeachable,

tho who misbehave. tho who "behave amiss or betray the

public trust."

james madison again at the constitutional convention: "a

president is impeachable if he attempts to subvert the

constitution." the constitution charges the president with the

task of taking care that the laws be faithfully executed, and yet

the president has counled his aides to commit perjury, willfully

disregard the crecy of grand jury proceedings, conceal

surreptitious entry, attempt to compromi a federal judge, while

publicly displaying his cooperation with the process of criminal

justice. "a president is impeachable if he attempts to subvert the

constitution."

if the impeachment provision in the constitution of the

united states will not reach the offens charged here, then

perhaps that 18th-century constitution should be abandoned to

a 20th-century paper shredder.

has the president committed offens, and planned, and

directed, and acquiesced in a cour of conduct which the

constitution will not tolerate? that's the question. we know that.

we know the question. we should now forthwith proceed to

Good morning, my dear teachers and friends! My name is Li

Bingke, from class four O five. Today, I am very happy to be here.

My topic is “Our School”.

My dear friends, welcome to our school! My school is very

beautiful! It has a big playground. We can play and do some

sports there. Near the playground, there is a garden. Many trees

and flowers are there. So the air is very clean and we can hear

birds singing in the trees. It is so wonderful. Our teaching

buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’

arms to welcome us. We can draw pictures in the art room on the

first floor and read story-books in the library on the cond floor.

My classroom is on the third floor. It is clean and bright. We like

to study in it. The computer room is on the fifth floor. We can

sing and dance in the music room on the sixth floor. What a lot

of fun! We can have lunch in the canteen near Defang Teaching

Building.

In our school, our teachers work hard and help us with our

lessons. We study hard and listen to teachers carefully. After class,

our teachers play with us and we feel very happy.

Our school is so nice and our teachers are so kind. We all love

them. Dear friends, do you like them?

That's all. Thanks!
