Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas

of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing

mes success would be rather simple. Winning a game

is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a

new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my

speech is somehow also success.

However, as a person's whole life is concerned, success

becomes very complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success?

Is high social status success? No, I don’t think so. I believe

success is the realization of people's hopes and ys,

in the modern society there are many people who are regarded

as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of them

are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people

believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpo. But

the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are

always more money, higher position and better condition in front

of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy

us at last? Therefore, we can e, to get the real Success we must

need something inside, which is the realization of people's hopes

and ideals.

Different people have different ideas about success; cau

people's hopes and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure

every success is dear to everybody, cau it is not easy to come

by, cau in the process of our striving for success, we got both

our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by

the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient,

courage and n of responsibility. The are the best treasures.

So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here

speaking to all of you. It is my success, cau I rai up to

challenge my hope.

What is success? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do.

But I am sure every success leads to an ever-brighter future. So

ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourlves,

we, every one of us, can make a successful life!

it’s a very intresting topic today.

i think my dad was a hero for me when i was a young child.

we'd go fishing, walks, and other fun things for a kid.

every child has a good and great father, and so do i. my dad

played a very important role in my daily life`````exactly speaking,

in my past 16 years.

my father always stands in the center of my life， from past

till now and possibly in the future.

my family was rather poor when i was in my childhood. we

didn't have our own hou and had to live in a shabby， small

room rented from my father's factory. the room was so small that

there was little space for people to walk. i didn't have my own

bed and had to sleep with my parents. this is terrible both for my

parents and me.

but father made this all different!he works very hard on his

own business, now we have our own 2 hou,surly,i have my

own he take our family so much happiness, richer and

richer.

when i was little, i did everything with my dad. you could

always find me sitting on his knee or walking and doing

everything with him. every night he would read me a bed time

story and make the voices of each character.

In my 18 years of life, there have been many things.

University days are the best part of them. I can never forget the

days when I stepped into my university. I was impresd by its

garden'like campus, its enthusiastic students and especially its

learning atmosphere. I at once fell in love with it.

After the arduous military training, I get absolutely absorbed

in my studies. The class given by the teachers are excellent.

They provide us with information not only from our textbooks

but from many other sources as well. They easily arou my

insatiable desire to take in as much as I can.

Frankly speaking, at first I had some difficulty following the

teachers. However, through my own efforts and thanks to my

teachers' guidance, I made remarkable progress. Now I've

benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.

Learning is a long process; I'll keep exploring in the treasure

hou of knowledge to enrich mylf. This summer I got out of

the ivory tower and entered the real world. A publishing hou

offered me a part'time job in compilation and revision.

At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they

were really surprid when I translated ven English articles over

5,000 words on only one day. Gradually, they began to look at me

with respectful eyes. In their opinion I turned out to be a uful

and trustworthy colleague.

I also realize that only tho who bring happiness for others

can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning

public welfare. I once went to a barren mountain village with my

classmates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school.

While showing them how broad and how civilized the outer

world is, I was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their

honesty and their purity. I couldn't control my tears on the day

when we left. The precious experience with the poor kids made

me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future

teachers.

Besides study and social practice, there are entertainments

as well. I do body building every day, hoping to keep healthy and

energetic. We also write a play and put it on in our spare time.

Campus life is the most splendid time. But different people

have different choices. The majority of students cherish their

beautiful ason and cherish the hope that one day they'll

become outstanding. But there are indeed some students still

under ignorance. They gather together for eating, drinking or

playing cards. They're busy in arching for a girlfriend or a

boyfriend. They forget completely about their mission as college

students and the hope of their motherland.

Finally, I do hope everybody can try their best to become a

worthy citizen of the country. I do hope everybody can become

the backbone of our nation and make great contributions to

society!

back to dust . whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s

heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of

what‘s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of

your heart and my heart there‘s a wireless station : so long as it

receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power

from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young . when

the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of

cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even

at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of

optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. thank you!

my topic is “our school”.

my dear friends, welcome to our school! my school is very

beautiful! it has a big playground. we can play and do some

sports there. near the playground, there is a garden. many trees

and flowers are there. so the air is very clean and we can hear

birds singing in the trees. it is so wonderful. our teaching

buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’

arms to welcome us. we can draw pictures in the art room on the

first floor and read story-books in the library on the cond floor.

my classroom is on the third floor. it is clean and bright. we like

to study in it. the computer room is on the fifth floor. we can sing

and dance in the music room on the sixth floor. what a lot of fun!

we can have lunch in the canteen near defang teaching building.

in our school, our teachers work hard and help us with our

lessons. we study hard and listen to teachers carefully. after class,

our teachers play with us and we feel very happy.

our school is so nice and our teachers are so kind. we all love

Let me begin my speech with a replay of scenes familiar to

most, if not all, of tho prent here today. “Mum, I'm sorry,

but I need 3,000 yuan for my tuition this year.”

“Mum, it is my friend's birthday tomorrow, I must buy her a

“Mum, this jacket was out of fashion long ago, would you

do me a favor? ”

Take. Take. Take. The relationship between a mother and a

child always ems to follow such a pattern. I know my mother is

always there for me, providing me with everything I need; from

food to clothing, from tuition to pocket money. I never thought

twice about all she did until one day she said, “Will there be a

time that you'll say you have taken enough from me? ”

Like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history,

have been continually demanding what we desire from nature.

We enjoy the comfort and beauty of our furniture, yet we never

bother to think about the rious soil erosion caud by

deforestation. We take it for granted that we must warm

ourlves in winter times, yet we ldom realize the burning away

of precious natural resources. We appreciate all the prosperity

from the development of modern industry, yet few would give

the slightest consideration to the global air and water pollution

caud by industrial wastes. Our ruthless exploitation has

permanently impaired our mother earth. As we tragically learned

from last summer's floods. we cannot continue our carelessness.

Finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we

cannot help thinking of our posterity. Nature is not only the

mother of the prent generation, but also the mother of the

generations to come. How verely our descendents will criticize

us if we leave them a barren and lifeless mother? How much more

they will appreciate us if we give them a world of harmony to

inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for nature from now

on. Let us start the campaign of creating a mutually beneficial

relationship between people and nature right from this moment.

With this new start, I firmly believe, that our children, and our

children's children will live in a brand new age of green trees,

clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even more promising

world!

As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited

Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee

for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James,

and this is me and we are looking at a dragon's tooth. This is a

true story.

65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5

years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a

creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He

was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

In the late 1930s, when the Japane occupied Qingdao, his

family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the

Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon's

mouth.

He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of

guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through

his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling

intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his

childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the

Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm

welcome.

When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time

and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It

has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing

is to have the courage to admit and correct one's error.

Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should

try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would

like to say to all of my friends: Let's be honest people of good

moral character.
